I would 100% recommend spending your vacation or even a night or two here at the Wilderness Expedition Rv Park. The staff is very friendly and always pleasant. The park is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. There is tons of shade trees, a bath house with 3 showers, and 3 toilets that are nice and clean. The RV sites are very nice they have grass, with a picnic table, campfire rings, electric ,and water hook ups. There is not septic hook ups but for those who stay a week or longer have access to dump twice a week when the honey pot comes around. We have been here all summer and dumping with the honey pot is just fine. We love this RV park and are looking forward to coming back again next summer. It's a little piece of Heaven here.

The location and scenery is great. Everything else sucks. This was probably once a nice motel/camp area but it is so uncared for now that weeds are growing out of everything, the bathrooms are disgusting, and the fishing ponds are filled with algae (and posted no fishing despite what the website says).I had three young boys under 12 with me and the first thing the host said is they had to be supervised at all times. Having to accompany three excited boys around the campground everywhere INCLUDING THE BATHROOM, was exhausting. I took those boys camping so they could run around with each other and play. I had to ask them to sit in the campsite while I cooked, cleaned up, and tried to relax. When I arrived at 5:30pm the hosts were nowhere to be found. The office was vacant even though the posted hours said they were open until 6:00pm. I finally found them in their camper after asking two other visitors. After I checked in they told me I had to submit the insurance papers for my trailer and tow vehicle to them via email. No RV Park I've stayed at has ever asked for that. The only reason this place got two stars from me is because the river that ran by the campsite was beautiful and provide a serene setting for the evening and night.

There is a reason that you won't find this park listed in the Good Sam Campground Directory. They would never pass Good Sam's inspection process! First, we were told that although they don't have full hook ups that they had a dump station. The truth is that the dump station (such that it is) is not in the campground area at all. You have to exit the park, drive about two blocks up the side road from the entrance, turn on to the main highway, go another block down it, and then turn into a parking lot where they used to operate a strip of small motel rooms (now abandonedand dark). If that wasn't bad enough, the sewer connection is tucked back into a corner between the side of the now abandoned motel rooms and a wooden privacy fence that fronts the main highway! Oh, and did I mention that it is very isolated and poorly lit? Also it is in this parking lot where the restrooms and showers are located! Again, remote from the RV section of the campground and very poorly lit! You have to cross out of the RV section over the river via a bridge to the aforementioned poorly lit parking lot to use the restrooms or showers! We found the camp host Denise to be rude, intrusive, and very unhelpful! When I informed her about burned out light bulbs and the poorly lit state of the restrooms, she puffed up, got very loud and confrontational, and informed me it "wasn't her job to replace light bulbs"! We had booked and paid for four nights, but found the state of the campground to be so poor and unsafe and her to be so disagreeable that we left after the second night and simply had to forfeit what we had paid for the last two nights! Would I recommend this RV park or stay here again? ..... What do you think?!

Such an Amazing RV park everyone here is extremely nice and helpful. The camp host is awesome she helps well beyond the office hours of the park. The other campers here are so nice and love seeing all the kids out playing and having fun. It's such a beautiful setting and park to just relax. Also there is so many things to do around the park.

This is a really cute little campground within the city limits of Salida. It's shaded, quaint, and has great amenities, such as electric, water, toilets, and shower. They will also perform a sewage dump for a fee. There is a bike path that leads downtown directly across the street from the campground. The camp hosts, Marshall and Lisa, were very professional, friendly, and helpful.

This place is a pit! They advertised 30 amp electric service for RVs but anything much more than 20 amps pops the main breaker. Trash can is a regular residential unit that was overflowing with much trash on the ground. Certainly not bear proof. The "hosts " are arrogant, dismissive and even combative. If you are in anything other than a tent, skip this place!
