I used to LOVE this place as a child and when my children were younger. But! Idk, a recent trip to the pool kind of put a sour taste in my mouth. I took my daughter swimming and because idk, she's 9 and I wanted to ensure she was safe by herself, I was going to sit and watch her. They never used to charge for that, but I'm sure because times are rough, they charge you now. They also raised the prices to swim quite a bit. I understand it's probably because they had to, but now I can't send the kids as often as I would have in the past during the summer. I love the parks and the library (which I wish some of the renovation went to a bigger library vs the sports lol! But that's personal preference)

The Widefield Community Center is OK if you have smaller children that just want to swim or go to the library. It might even be ok if you only want your kids to play the semblance of a game or sport. However, if you are looking to teach older children/teenagers how to compete athletically and prepare them for playing in high school, go to Fountain Community Center as the Widefield Community Center isn't the right place for them. The umpires will arbitrarily choose which of their rules to enforce or ignore. The sports administration staff is even worse as they will arbitrarily choose winners in leagues that is supposed to "keep" score. The place is a joke and not the funny kind. Andrew O'Such, the administrator, won't even return emails from coaches with inquiries as to why they chose 1 team as the winner over another. Just do yourself a favor and avoid the headache and enroll your kids in another community center league.

I have enjoyed all of the activities that we've utilized here. My son has been in youth sports and also was a student in their preschool. We regularly use the library and the playgrounds. It's a really nice community center! We haven't been to the pool due to COVID and I don't want to bother making reservations. I do wish there were more swim lessons available.

If you reside in Widefield or Security; are looking for a great preschool that is affordable, where you feel the "warmth" when you first walk in, friendly and professional staff, great curriculum, clean, great interaction with staff and children, small class size, then this is the preschool for you. I've seen the "free" preschools and was not impressed. But if you are on a budget, this preschool is affordable and not outrageous. They will accept your child with a "pull-up" if only 99% potty trained. My grandson, who was an only child at the time, and had never been to daycare, and loved this preschool. At his orientation meeting, I met another parent who informed me that this was going to be a great class. They had put their oldest child in the class the previous year and couldn't believe how much their son had excelled. It made me feel good but then throughout the year, I had to agree. It was such an awesome experience. Before class ends, all the parents are in the hallway, and you form a bond with the other parents, getting to know each other. It was such a great experience for the kids, the parents and grandparents and/or whomever shuttled the child to and from preschool. The facility is very secure. It was such a great experience, most of the class signed up to be together the next year in their Kreative Kinder class. The 3 year old class is called Terrific Tots and the 4 year old class is called Kreative Kinder.
