This is probably my favorite restaurant in Colorado. I've been a couple times now, and already want to plan another trip to Buena Vista just so I can go back!Everything I've tried has been amazing. From the truffle fries, to the kale salad, soups and lasagna - nothing has disappointed. The bar is also well stocked, and portions are generous. Plus the service and atmosphere are exceptional. I love the paint color so much, I asked the front desk where it was from! Such a special restaurant, and I can't wait to go back.

This is a really pretty lobby bar. We went for brunch and really enjoyed the meal. I had shrimp and grits, my spouse had the half jumbo lump crab Benedict. The English muffins are made in house and delicious! The shrimp and grits comes with fried okra which was such a great flavor combo. The service was just ok--our server seemed distracted. The mimosas were $11/ea and kind of a small pour. My spouse would have ordered another though because she said the orange juice was freshly squeezed in house.

Really beautiful setting. The building is stunning, the view and the area around it are amazing. The food was ok, but I also wish I had the opportunity to try more. I had a Moroccon spiced lamb shish kebab (I think, the specifics may be a little off, it was a few months ago and it's not on the current menu so I can't double check). This was so spicy I couldn't eat it - but on the menu, it was not labeled as spicy at all. This is really frustrating. I have low-medium spice tolerance (up to 3/10 in general, up to 5/10 for certain types of heat that I like, like Szechuan dishes). I would put this one at a 6/10, medium or medium-hot, and it's just shocking to me that restaurants do not label things like this on menus. We were absolutely starving. And while they did allow me to send it back and choose something else, I was sooooo hungry that I really did not want to wait longer to eat!I do want to mention that the service was good, when I mentioned the dish was too spicy for me to eat, they replaced it without any fuss or charging me for it, which I really appreciated. From our experience, I believe you can count on this restaurant to have professional and respectful, high quality service. They did have vegan options, including vegan pizza, which was great as my dining partner was vegan and we had gone out of our way to find restaurants with good vegan options.Anyway, we also got the melted cheese shared plate with bread which was good (hard to mess up melted cheese and bread) and a chicken caesar salad, which was also good but not amazing.

Wow! Blown away! The meal was so damn good! First they bake their breads fresh in house. Let me tell you I ate so much bread!!! Fresh churned butter yes please! I went with my partner we shared everything and were so stuffed took so much back to our hotel. Meatballs were super savory tender and so delicious with the bread! Kale salad hit the mark to say I was eating something healthy. Had a pizza and the dough was super delicate and ohhh so good. Finished with the filet with compound butter. The compound butter had fresh tarragon and was very on point, cooked perfectly! Truffle fries were also pretty fire and a huge portion. The au gratin potatoes were the only thing way over cooked and looked like mush tasted worse, they were so brown and didn't look very fresh. However everything else was perfectly cooked.

We make it a point to stop here every time we're in Buena Vista because the food is always incredible. I love that their seasonal menu keeps everything fresh and flavorful. Whether you're planning a date night, a girls' night out, or a relaxing Sunday brunch, this spot never disappoints. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere and fantastic bar make it a must-visit!

This is the best meal we had in Colorado, punching far above "hotel lobby bar" expectations. No joke. We had to study the ahi so we could try to replicate it at home, that memorable. The cocktails, and mocktails were perfectly balanced and delicious. The service was exceptional, friendly, and fun. They let us switch tables for a better view. But the views are great all the way around. Had to a walk around the park & up the river trail after to walk it off because we couldn't stop eating

Where to start!? This place is inside the beautiful Surf Hotel, nestled against the roaring Arkansas River. Because of this, it is also a hot spot for weddings and events. That said, I visited with my Wife as we celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary in BV. When we arrived, people were spilling out the front door, obviously a wedding. We approached the host, and she was visibly distressed and frustrated with the party. She was happy to seat us and get us started. When the waitress arrived at our table, it was so loud she could not hear us shout our drink orders and offered to move us somewhere else, which we gladly accepted.Once at our new table, it was still quite loud, but we decided to make the best of it and ordered some drinks. I had ordered the Surf Sangria, which they describe as fresh fruit, Spanish red wine, and Deerhammer Brandy. Only it arrived minus the fruit and seemed to have been thrown together at the bar. The waitress was unhappy as well and corrected the problem. As for food, we got a variety of items. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, check them out. Everything was pretty good, but the wedding taxed the entire establishment. Overall, it put a damper on our anniversary dinner experience. I wish they would have closed down for the private party as the wedding party was loud, rude, and demanding. This would have been a wonderful dining experience had we not had to compete with the wedding party.

I had a great experience at Wesley and Rose. The host was a kind young man who was extremely polite and the server was very attentive. I started with a virgin Mary, which was the best bloody Mary I've ever had. Then I ordered the beignets, which were delicious. For my main course, I had the shrimp and grits. However, I felt that there was too much sauce and not enough grits. The dish had very little creole taste and flavor, and it was very tomato-based. The presentation was not very appealing, as it looked like it was just thrown together. The fried okra was the best part of the dish, providing a nice finish, but I would prefer if they used less sauce and added more grits. I definitely would come back.
