Some of the best birra place I've tried in Colorado. Their rice and beans are so delicious too. Definitely getting this spot when I start craving Mexican food.

21 Aug 23 out oldest son took us there because I was in the mood for Mexican food. I had their chicken quesadilla which was huge so I brought half of it home. My husband and my son had their beef tacos and we got fast service because the restaurant was empty. Truu it ed a new sweet drink they had which was great. All three of us d joyed our meals. For nearly a year my spouse has been trying to take me to this place. He has been coming here for two decades since college. Finally, this weekend we had an errand in the neighborhood so we decided to pop in for lunch. I could not believe how good the food was. I had the chorizo plate ($10.30) with a flour tortilla and he had two tacos. The tortilla was about 20 inches in diameter and I could only get through half of my meal before I finally gave up and took the rest home for later. I had a large soda and our entire meal was about $20.When you walk in, the menu is posted with photos for each item. The restaurant seems like an old fast food joint with a condiments and garnish bar in the middle. You place your order at the counter, then they call your order out when it's ready for pickup. The service was very fast and good. They also have a drive-thru option.Inside the restaurant, they have a TV that was playing infomercials in Spanish while we were there. They also have candy and sticker vending machines. For just 50 cents, you can get funny stickers, so you know I left with two. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

This place is not only consistent in food quality. They also serve you a good and honest portion further than other restaurants. I come through the drive through often with my friend who recommended them to me one night. I order carne asada fries usually because it's a safe bet, but as I write this I'm branching out to see if the restaurant truly has what it takes for success over the next ten years in the developing Colorado Springs arena. As I think right now, these guys are hardworking and I haven't been disappointed 3 times. They say the third time is the charm, and this place gave me charm in the first ever experience I have. If you are a native of Mexico or a generation coming, this place is authentic. Real cooks. Real food. Real love toward the people who eat there. -S.G.N

If you've read my reviews previously (and if you haven't, you should... I mean... you know... I'm that good), you know I grew up on Tex-Mex and Mexican food is one of my staples. This place is basically the same as all of other drive-thru Mexican joints in town. What's really funny is they all have the same pros and cons.PROS:- Some of the food is pretty good- I like their carne asada burritos and breakfast burritos.- Most of these places are open 24 hours- It's not all that expensiveNEUTRAL:- The beans and rice are okay, but not stellar - Their tacos and beef burritos use shredded beef instead of ground beefCONS:- The customer service is pretty horrible- The speaker at the drive through is basically crap- Since the speaker at the drive through is basically crap, you stand a pretty good chance of getting the wrong stuffFor example, I went there a couple of days ago to get breakfast burritos. Here's the conversation at the drive thru:Me: "I'd like a breakfast burrito and add beans and extra cheese. I need another breakfast burrito with no meat, but add beans and extra cheese."Speaker: "Thzz ... brakstffzh zurtizzz, right?"Me: "Let me repeat it. I need a breakfast burrito with..."Speaker (interrupting): "Ozzky" [click off]Here's what I got:- Breakfast burrito with no cheese- Breakfast burrito with no meat- Regular breakfast burritoIf it's super late or super early, you're hungry and want some cheap Mexican food, it's not a bad choice.

Food is average. The saving grace of this establishment is that it is 24/7. It is the go-to place during a late night out. Who wants McDonalds when you can have rice and refried beans!!

Went to Viva El Taco as part of a taco tour with a group of work collegues. I thought I would give it a shot. It was a fail. The carne asada no tenia nada de sabor. Que asgo! The place was pretty dirty. I will say the service was friendly though, so there is that. There are lots of better places for tacos in Colorado Springs.

My go to Mexican food place when I want something cheap but still very tasty. When not busy, they will have your food out very quickly. I went to the restroom and when I got out, my breakfast burrito was ready right of the grill and tasted amazing. Really clean place and the people are nice and respectful.
