We heard from some locals that Vinny's was the place to go and had a great happy hour. Being Italian myself, I was a bit skeptical on Italian food in the mountains, but boy was I wrong. The happy hour IS amazing! You can't beat both food and drinks on special. Be sure to sit at the bar though because it's only available in that area.Caesar salad, pizzas and bolognese were all divine and we had great service. We look forward to returning to this cozy spot off Main!

I love the staff and I know they work hard, but I'm hoping Vinny's can polish things up a bit. I asked to add ricotta cheese to my sandwich. The server correctly noted it on the receipt, but I didn't get any ricotta. Honest mistake, but if you read other reviews you'll see that this isn't the first order the kitchen got wrong. What I really wanted on my last night in Frisco was pizza. I was given a bar menu with pizza options, but was told they only do pizza on weekends..... why doesn't the menu state that? Better yet, why doesn't the website mention that? The best bit is that a few minutes later I see pizza being taken to one of the tables. Soooo pizza available only on weekends at the bar? But served daily at tables? Then maybe I could've been offered to be seated at a table. No big deal. I'm an easy going guy. None of the above would have made the review if the next thing hadn't happened. I order the sandwich and I'm asked what I would like for a side. In the end I find out that I was charged for the side. Ok Colorado, let's clear this up. I've eaten at restaurants all over the US for 40 years. Sides at a steakhouse are for an added cost (unless stated otherwise). Sides with sandwich are free (unless stated otherwise. If a side is not free, please don't offer it, or mention how much it costs: "would you like a side salad for $4?"In the end, I'm not upset. I appreciate the server for encouraging healthy eating. I benefited from the salad, and the sandwich was good (even without the ricotta; less cheese is healthier). And maybe the pizza was too much food for one person anyway. I don't like to overeat.I'm only suggesting a bit of polishing up in their process.

We were looking for a spot to celebrate my moms 60th bday and this spot was perfect. We got seated at a great table with a beautiful view overlooking the town and the mountains. The service was excellent and the food even better. I ordered the short rib. All of their entrees come with a choice of risotto, polenta or potatoes. I chose the Parmesan risotto of course. The short rib was so tender and juicy, full of complex flavors. The risotto was was the perfect consistency. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes and dessert. This is a perfect spot for a celebratory dinner or just a tasty bite to eat!

"Dog" the bartender was friendly and efficient. Large happy hour kept him busy. 4-6 Happy hour might be best deal in Frisco. Cocktail, salad, pasta bolognese, glass of house red, plus tip, was under $40.

Nobody at the hostess station. Not many people here. Reggae music blasting in an Italian restaurant? Hmmm. We waited 5+ minutes just to be acknowledged by anyone. A young lady ran by us to talk to the bartender and still nobody even looked our direction nor said anything. Weird. We should have left. We asked to sit by the windows in the almost empty place, but were told they might be reserved. Really? Wow. We should have left. We were actually given a table by the windows but the server wearing a kilt was very lackadaisical and we sat for 5 more minutes only to be told he'd be right back. Nope. Oh, and the "bar" menu was different from the table menu so we went to the bar. The bar tender Jarrett was not welcoming nor gracious. He straight forward asked what we were drinking. I kindly asked if it was okay for us to dine at the bar and he said "sure, but you want a drink?" I didn't. My husband asked for the wine list. Then we were essentially ignored for the next 8 minutes. We should have left. The bartender gave us a plate with 4 slices of toasted bread and a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip the bread. Not sure what was happening but only three people working the front restaurant and nobody seemed to want to hurry. Huh. Their "bar" menu allowed smaller portions which was fine but we were hungry and I ordered the roasted pear salad which was amazing. Hubby got the appetizer grilled tenderloin skewer which was good. The tenderloin was incredible. I then asked for a half order of the clams with linguine and hubby ordered the half sausage rigatoni. Took about 15 minutes for the order to come but my dish was piping hot with plenty of clams but the wrong kind of pasta. It was more of a strangozzi or pici pasta which is like a very fat spaghetti noodle. I didn't dislike it! It was very interesting. However the sauce needed way more garlic and salt and pepper. My husband's rigatoni was rather flavorless and severely lacking any sausage. Two boisterous young men came and sat by us at the bar, obviously friends of the bartender. We had been finished with our dinner for about 15 minutes and never was asked if there was anything else we needed. The basketball game was far more interesting than customers. Geeze. Finally I asked for boxes for our leftovers and only then were asked if we wanted dessert. We wanted our bill. It was incorrect so we asked him to fix it. We should have left sooner. We could not leave fast enough. So disappointing. BOTTOM LINE: service lacks! Food was hit and miss.

Great service at the Bar, Gavin is just a rock star who makes a mean martini! We bellied up and enjoyed the view from Main Street.

"Good not WOW"This was our first visit to Vinny's in the current location. The service was what we'd expect from a fine dining experience. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good but not great. There weren't any entree options that were imaginative, special or beyond what I am capable of preparing as a home cook. We had an enjoyable experience l, but not memorable like a few years ago.

Vinnys is great and I don't understand the hateful reviews. Their food is insane and made fresh with a farm to table concept. I've sat in both the dining room and the bar and have had wonderful experiences every time. Their short ribs are to DIE for. And pro tip, if you sit at the bar you can get a half order of a few of the entrees which, in my opinion fills you plenty. Lindsey is the best bartender. Super personable and knows how to read if you want to chat away or have a peaceful meal to yourself.

Made a 6:30 reservation, no one was at the host stand when we arrived. Waited for 30 minutes before we were actually seated. There was a group of 6 and another group of 2 that arrived after us and were seated before. Service was extremely slow. After ordering drinks at the bar, we were brought the wrong drinks to our table. The food was good but nothing exceptional, certainly not for the price. Ambiance wasn't great, very loud. We were seated in a lager "overflow" section next to a large group. Would not recommend, will not be returning.
