"There's a Small Hotel" - Frank Sinatra/Pal Joey (1957).We used The Villa Motel as a stop overnight from Denver to Divide (destination: Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Sanctuary). I chose The Villa based on the reviews here, and the fair price. I didn't want to pay $300 a night just for a one-night stay in the other more fancier places around Manitou as we were just crashing for a night (approx $105 a night off-season). PARKING: plentiful free parking during mid-March. ROOMS: The Villa Motel completely honored my request when I booked online directly with them (cheaper direct also). I asked for a corner room on the 2nd floor so it wouldn't be so noisy, and it wasn't at all. No elevators, be aware of that. If you don't want to lug your stuff upstairs, ask for bottom floor room. The rooms very large, even larger than our room at the La Quinta Inn in Glenwood Springs. The bed was comfy and just right for firmness. Everything was clean except I found a hair in my bed and there was a rolled-up ball of black hair in the bathroom but I was not grossed out by that since everything else was clean. Sheets smelled fresh and clean. Bathroom had nice amenities like make up wipe remover, bar soap and lotion, which was a very nice touch. The water controls were opposite for the HOT and COLD water, making it very difficult to figure out which way to turn the handles and even when getting the temp right, it would shift from hot to cold to freezing. I had to get out of the water stream every few minutes as it would go from scalding hot to freezing cold, until you manipulated the handles again. The water also backed up in the tub when we showered. The microwave and the sitting area is a nice touch, and the fridge. I am glad they have a safe. The last two hotels we went to did not have one (La Quinta Glenwood Springs, Drury in Westminster)A/C and heater worked very well, and quiet too. SERVICE: very nice people for check-in and check-out. Be aware the office opens at 7 AM, so if you have to be somewhere before that, talk to the office ahead of time to arrange something. We had to be in the town of Divide for our Alpha Wolf tour by 0745 and that was about 32 minutes away, so there was little wiggle-room for getting lost, etc. OTHER PERKS: coffee and continental breakfast in the office with some fresh whole fruits, pastries. The entire town of Manitou Springs is less than a 10-minute walk from The Villa, just take a left out of the driveway and keep walking. Laundromat a few feet away although I did see some washing/drying machines at The Villa. We did not use the pool in snowy March (closed). Manitou Incline views directly across the motel. RETURN FACTOR: a 100% YES. We love The Villa Motel. I also loved Manitou Springs and want to return again in the future. Keep small businesses in business! We love family-owned places and want to see them succeed, so give this place a try!

This is my go to stop for acclimation to the Colorado altitude. The rooms are clean and well appointed, with plenty of towels. The star attraction is the hot tub and pool, soooo nice after a long day in the car or the mountains. Family owned, and the staff is hand picked by the owner. It's the little things, like working ice machines and a nice laundry room. Feels like something from a lost time, a most welcome feeling when touring around a strange land.

Cute little stay. Room was CLEAN. Had everything we needed, plenty of towels, friendly staff. Close to everything. Saw one little bug, but we were on a mountain so it wasn't a big deal to us. Also, the little air conditioning unit worked really well, the room would get crispy cold! Would totally stay here again.

My sister and I stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it! Great location! Clean, comfy rooms - no frills but everything we needed for some r & r. We sat outside by the pool watching the traffic and listening to an event that was taking place in a park (obscured by trees) with Native American dancers. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this little motel and would come back regularly if we didn't live in Louisiana!

My family and I rented four rooms from these folks. There were what I believe to be bed fleas in one of our rooms. See photos attached. We caught one. When I brought this to the manager's attention, Jordan, he said that he would talk to the owner. The rooms varied in price around just under $200 apiece. The owner refunded us $50 for our trouble. I saw an insect in my own bed, but only one. So, although I couldn't sleep because I felt I had things crawling on me, I didn't make a fuss about it.We were drawn to this motel by the positive reviews and pleasant appearance. One more little thing, when we were checking in I asked for more than two keys and the woman behind the desk told me that was "weird". She was also argumentative when I told her that I had wanted four, not three, rooms all along.

The location is great! Especially if you are hiking the incline. It is directly across from the free shuttle to the incline.Upon arrival, we had to wait 30 minutes to check in. That was a grueling 30 minutes as we had just completed the incline and just wanted to get to our room and rest our legs. Apparently the guests ahead of us had booked two queens and were given a king room instead. Unfortunately that would not work for them. The poor lady at the front desk apparently does not usually work the front desk and could not get ahold of anyone to assist her with the issue.Once we arrived in our room, unfortunately the tv did not work. We were told they were trying to fix the issue but it was with all of the rooms. If you are tall you may want to reconsider staying here. The shower head was only at about 5'6" tall. When we went to check out, we also had to wait as there was not any staff at the front desk.Hopefully they are able to resolve these issues.

Just wanted to let you all know that my friend had to sadly stay at this establishment last week. Her boyfriend had made the reservation prior to their visit to Colorado. Sadly, the afternoon of the day they were planning to stay there he suffered a fatal heart attack. Because he had made the reservation and obviously wasn't present to check in, the front desk staff refused to honor the reservation and she had to pay for the room again on top of the loss she had suffered earlier that day. Also, she did have his wallet and therefore his ID. That is customer service at its very worst. Word to the wise...don't stay there. So tired of people not being able to think outside the box. Realize motels have protocol, but really. So sad for her to be treated that way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Motel! You can tell they take great pride in their business. Everything was great: the check-in/out process, housekeeping, the grounds crew constantly cleaning up. We will definitely be back!

Excellent experience - a great example of the great American motel. Modern furnishings, friendly helpful staff, and just a block outside of the Manitou Springs business district. Highly recommended!
