Reviewing this branch and one other that has also been a great resource for us.We have used the Ute Pass PPLD branch for years. I wasn't sure how they would take us running in to pick up a stack of holds every week, I've had librarians at other libraries (not PPLD) look at us a bit askance. But the folks here have invariably been thrilled to see the books being used. They genuinely love books and reading themselves and go entirely out of their way to make the whole family feel like they can't do enough to get us whatever resources we can use. K. is fabulous for making recommendations for young people and young adults. We have also used teen and youth programs here to supplement some of our home school work, their art class with L. was top notch, and her anatomy tutorial was something we could not have found elsewhere. They encourage the kids every year with their reading game, and have talked the adults in our family into trying it, also. Pasting the comments I wrote on the review of the other branch we've used as they apply here, also:We have five big readers in the family and we home school, so this last service is invaluable. We can research which books the family can use or might be interested in, look them up in the online catalogue, and pick them up when they are ready. This has turbocharged the kids' reading because there are no gaps in reading, there are always books ready for them when we stop in town. Of course, they usually browse the shelves in addition. Also great for video resources.Last great use, there are a ton of school resources that look interesting but are too expensive to sample over and over. PPLD's reserve holds option lets me check out these resources, review them, and either decide they don't fit us or go ahead and buy the books for the school year. This doesn't just save us money, it saves us wasting time on curricula that aren't a good fit. Can't praise the place enough! Much of this applies to the other branch we use, also, so I'll be pasting this there.

Really tiny but so cute! Tucked away in the mountains, beautiful location, & nice environment for kids. Great to have books held from other PPLD locations.
