US Post Office

Absolutely the most unhelpful and worst post office I've ever attempted to use. Three things - 1) I'm deploying and wanted to ship a trunk forward. I've shipped it many times over the years and all of sudden it's "too big". Length plus girth must be under 108" - it's 57" plus 37" -- How the heck is that over 108"? And he wouldn't do it. His machine said no - god forbid he must've fat fingered something and he wouldn't try again. My fancy adding machine could've been different than his he said. 2) the postman broke my mailbox yesterday by trying to hand a 10lb box on it instead of walking it down the driveway and putting it on the porch. 3) postman has been driving on our property to do a u-then instead of going to the end of the street. This jerk refused to help me ship ahead my deployment items and wouldn't even try. I'll absolutely never go in here again.UPDATE - literally 30 min later I just had the same trunk shipped by the castle rock post office without a single issue and by a much friendlier staff. Funny how it's ok here but not at the Larkspur office.

Pros: small town so rarely a wait; usually staff is friendly and helpful. CONS sometimes the staff may come across rude simply because they don't know you or they have not had time off. Overall this is great post office and helpful as well!

Pretty big post office for such a small town. Open early at 7:30. Monday's and Friday's can be especially busy when the Renaissance Fair is open( June& July). General Delivery is the way many folks get their mail in Larkspur. They "check" to see if you have letters or packages. I wish they would go back to keeping a "list", of packages they were holding, MUCH MORE EFFICIENT! Checking for each person can take a long while. No stamp machines. They do money orders & priority mail,unlike some small town post offices.This is the only post office I've ever been asked for An ID to pick up mail.

The Post Office in Larkspur is quiet and for the most part friendly...HOWEVER the carrier to our location is lazy and the people at the post office support it. Packages are not delivered and we have to go pick them up. After asking for them to be delivered, they said we have an entry gate and it's closed. That's not true....it's open all day. Then they sited a secondary gate, which is true, and an entrance for people to walk the 20 steps to the door. I was told the carrier does not get out of their vehicle...that's obviously true but ridiculous. Then I said that the carrier could leave the package at our gate, and her snotty response was "Well I don't want you calling to complain when the package is wet from the rain". I said you can delivery to the porch OR the barn next door, and we can get in our Gator and pick it up from there...more excuses. Eventually she agreed to deliver and hung up on me. We shall see, but NOT impressed. UPS and FEDEX are my preferred carriers. By the way, my postman in Franktown (rural) does come all the way up my driveway and deliver to my door even though the mailbox is way down the road. This is just an example of laziness that this post office and / or carrier has gotten away with. If they remedy this situation, I will happily remove this post.

This by far was the most unprofessional and rude old lady I've ever met. I'll never come back to this crap hole.

Seems like every time I try to mail something from there something goes wrong. When you go to track or do you need something directly from them, if you're unlucky enough and you get Elaine, you're in big trouble. I have seen her yell at others and she yelled at my wife and of course she yells at me because I don't take that crap. When I said something she said she used to teach fencing so she's always screaming! So I complained to the postmaster who has received numerous complaints against her but they seem to do nothing about them. The last post master was a great lady and she told me the same thing. So I went to the castle rock post office and they know exactly who she is and they don't want her either but they told me it very hard to have someone removed. Last time I was there, since I won't work with her and while waiting I heard her tell an elderly couple the reason why their package was lost was because they chose the least expensive method of shipping! And of course she had to say it rudely. I know that this review is so negative that it's not very believable but it is absolutely true. If it wasn't my local post office I would find it laughable. Everybody else there is great. But in my world of construction you're only as good as your worst guy.

The Larkspur Post Office was absolutely no help when my tracking # to. Priority Shipped box never arrived on its scheduled date (Fri). The Post Master's story changed all day the following Mon. 1st it was delivered to mailbox - impossible as this is a large package. Then it was set next to the garage. No, it was not as my family saw mail carrier and he never left his vehicle. And the package was no where on their property or at a neighbors house. When I tried to talk to the Post Master for the 4th time, she hung up on me. There is something seriously wrong here. No answers and lots of questions for a package that is already a week late. And no one seems to care. I am so frustrated, disgusted and angry with the lack of customer service by this post office.
