I've been coming to the Twin Lakes area for 8 years now with my current 2023 trip and have always been able to rely on this little general store for my last minute needs. They have a little bit of everything. And I do mean everything! From liquor and strong fresh coffee, to all your sticker needs and t-shirt desires. You'll even find sandwiches and local homemade ice cream. Of course, they also carry gas and they actually beat the Shell station on the way to Leadville. Need some camping gear? Fear not. This little general store probably has what you need. Headlamps, walking sticks, propane stoves, tent patch up kits, etc, etc. The best part is that he doesn't even go past MSRP with the prices. Try to find that anywhere in the 2 nearby towns and you'll realize these prices are awesome. The gentleman that runs it is super nice and friendly. He gripes about common stuff with a smile and his sarcasm is something to admire because of his good humor. If you are staying nearby or just passing through, make sure to swing by and give them some love. You'll get free coffee if purchase fuel. That's double the fuel if you ask me!

This is probably last chance to refill your tank and have good look at Twin Lake. I also grab few last minute gifts for Aspen and Twin lakes, then went on Mocha Trail to enjoy hiking on Twin Lake area. The view is unbelievable.

This is a go-to spot for us when visiting Twin Lakes. Why?1) It has just about anything you could want or need! Tee shirts? Groceries? Liquor? You name it, they have it. Except for ice. Just FYI.2) The staff is ultra-friendly and make conversation with just about every single customer. Winning!3) Pricing is on point, despite being in the tiny little downtown area!4) It's one of the first businesses in town to greet you - so you can't miss it!When in Twin Lakes - you must stop in!

Stopped in to look around while it was raining, and boy do they have everything! Books, camping stuff, food, beer, liquor, food - they have it all! It's like a mini REI in there.

Not just a General Mercantile at the foot of Colorado's highest mountain but a terrific place to see the filthy, stinking and utterly electrified hikers from around the world on the Continental Divide Trail. If you ever need a reminder of what really matters and to live every day with gusto, stop in this place for any number of delights that extend beyond the humans intoxicated by the beauty they behold on the CDT. The adventure books, camping supplies, gear, hand crafted ice cream, hiking sticks et al are superb.

Our boys and us were driving from Santa Fe New Mexico to Aspen. We were very excited about going across the continental divide. We stopped in to get some snacks and use the restrooms as we had been on the road a long time. The 2 men working. A younger and older man, told us there were no restrooms. They would not let us use the restrooms. As this is the only stop on the way up, I can't even believe this. To have people come in and buy stuff from your store and say you may not use the ladies room!

Last week I was meandering my way up Mt. Elbert thinking about this little roadside stop we'd popped into the day before and it struck me. --This is the greatest place to buy vinyl records that I've been to west of the continental divide.-- I've been to proper record shops in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada but the records I've picked from this little shop's small but really well curated crates have been the best vinyl I've bought two years running. My wife and I have decided to plan another trip in this direction this weekend just to see what they got for her. Vinyl. Who'd have thunk it. Also, they have a classic used book bin that is brilliant for those quiet afternoons in camp. I'm jealous of what the owners have and my wife and I had a lengthy discussion of whether we were pursuing the right dreams. These owners have really figured out something magical.

The Twin Lakes General Store is as "Colorado Mountain Town-ey" as it gets. If this isn't part of your vacation you probably shouldn't even be sending any post cards because you missed a big one.Beer, booze, aspirin, soft serve ice cream, fishing tackle, t-shirts, maps...the list doesn't stop. By "General Store" I think they mean they have everything, generally. Whether you need fuel, are looking for a snack, or are just interested in picking up some local knowledge on the area, the Twin Lakes General Store is worth the stop.
