I recently got my hair done at TRU Hair Salon, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Kenzi did an amazing job from start to finish. She gave me a gorgeous lived-in blonde and a butterfly cut that made me feel and look so pretty. You can tell Kenzi truly cares about her clients on a personal level and their health, using low-tox, organic hair products that left my hair feeling so soft and smelling amazing!What sets TRU apart is the relaxing atmosphere and the caring, genuine stylists. The environment is so warm and welcoming, unlike any other salon I've been to. I highly recommend TRU Hair Salon for anyone looking for a luxury salon that also prioritizes low-tox products!

Highly HIGHLY recommend this salon and Emmy for cut / color / correction. Long story short, I dyed my hair "semi-permanent" black for Halloween, and it never came out. I went to multiple consults for weeks (after hoping it would fade), and no one really seemed to want to take me (can't blame 'em) until I met Emmy. Her consult was very thorough, and I felt I could trust her right away. She squeezed me in on one of her days off a couple days later and booked me for a half day to make sure she had enough time for me. She explained every step and made me feel very comfortable. She was a pleasure to chat with and I walked away with some great products (with no pressure involved)I happened to have a friend's bday dinner in OCC that night, so the lovely ladies of the salon helped me get ready -- which was so cool of them. Genuinely great people. I feel like I've found my new salon. I left lookin' freakin' amazing. Thank you!

In all honesty I am not trying to be rude with my review, I'm just being super blunt about my experience here so others know what to possibly expect if they decide to come here. I thought I'd take a chance on a new hairstylist at JGS for a second time and see if I could get a simple easy to manage hair cut but unfortunately that was not the case. The issue wasn't that the hairstylist Andrea wasn't good, it's that I didn't get exactly what I asked for.I wanted a super straight cut and I got everything except for what I asked for. I will say that it wasn't a horrible cut. It was quite excellent compared to other haircuts I got in the past from other hairstylists-- but just not specifically what I asked.I'm giving this hairstylist 3 stars because she knows how to handle the brush and blow dry hair once it's cut-- but simply failed to follow simple instructions and photos. She definitely has a technique but it's not what I was looking for. If I could sum up what happened exactly-- it's basically she cut my hair the way she liked it and felt comfortable with-- not the way I wanted. This is by far the worst thing that can happen to a customer and is one of my all time greatest pet peeves. I'm glad I'm not that upset about my hair not being exact what I wanted because it does grow back really fast but based on this experience I definitely won't be coming back. Today as I was trying to blow dry my hair to get it to look somewhat decent, it took twice the time to try to get it to sit right and straight and this is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Spending extra time on my hair when it should only have taken 20-30 minutes at the most because it's short and easy. Well now I have short hair but ironically it's not any faster or easier. JGS thanks for trying but it's a definite no and I definitely can not recommend JGS for specialized haircuts or specialized hair color treatment. At this point I can only recommend this salon "if" your the type of person who doesn't have a clear vision of what you want and you don't mind letting your hairstylist experiment-- aka do whatever they want.

Amberdawn did a great job with my hair! She wanted to be sure i loved it before i left! Everyone working there was attentive and really nice!

I can't say enough good things about TRU Hair Salon! As an organic, low-tox salon, they truly stand out from any other place I've been to. The environment is relaxing, calming, and my stylist is genuine and so down to earth. Not only do they deliver amazing results, but they also genuinely care about the health of my hair. My stylist always takes the time to teach me something new, whether it's about low-tox products or tips for styling my bangs. TRU Hair Salon is hands down the best hair salon in Colorado Springs!

I was lucky enough to get my hair done by Micheala a few weeks ago and my hair looks just as good now as it did then! I was really grateful that she was so helpful in picking out the best way to tone my hair to help me eventually get closer to my natural color. She was open about pricing at the start and also told me what she was doing and why she thought that route was the best one to take for my hair and my hair goals! I've only ever had great experiences here, the salon is cozy and clean! 10/10 recommend!

Mazey was awesome! Super informative and and cut my hair just how I wanted! Very chill vibe.
