The Wobbly Olive

Stopped here for dinner while in town for work. It was fantastic! It wasn't busy since it was a Monday. We arrived during happy hour so our drinks were half off. We also ordered an eggplant flatbread and I got the steak sandwich for my dinner. Everything was fantastic. I got the pumpkin pie martini and it was a fun and festive dessert drink! I highly recommend!

I reviewed this place about a year ago and unfortunately my rating remains the same. Alex, our waiter was very attentive and so accommodating. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday. He ordered the Thai ramen, which he said was delicious. He asked them to make it spicy, and woooo, did they make it spicy! The broth was rich and they didn't skimp on the eggplant. I ordered the sea bass which came out overcooked and burnt. I took a bite and knew immediately something was off, but took another bite to see if maybe I was being over critical. My boyfriend took a bite too and confirmed that it tasted like smoke. (Smokiness wasn't part of the description). Anyhow, we informed the waiter who then rushed back to the kitchen and less than 5 min later came out with another one. So...it makes me think that either they had one sitting on standby knowing that they messed up the first one, or they gave me someone else's order and that poor person had to wait longer for their dish. Honestly, I think the former because the arugula was wilted and seemed like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for a hot minute. But anyway, the second time around was better. Aside from that, our drinks were delicious. He had an old fashioned and I had the lavender gin cocktail. The ambiance of the place is as expected--intimate and quaint because it is a very small area. Overall, good experience as the waiter and staff made things right as soon as possible and the food was good.

We came into Allusion speakeasy and grabbed some food while we were here. Those goat cheese balls were incredible. The tuna tataki was really good but the dynamite sauce in front was way too spicy....and I love spicy. The sauce in the back was much better and the rest of the dish was delicious.

Extensive and fun drink menu. Great prices for a cocktail bar. Wil go back to try the food.

We visited on a Friday around 7 pm. It was packed. There were no tables available unless you had a reservation. A woman walking in behind us with a reservation waited a bit for her table. The bar was openseating - so to the bar, we went :)We ordered the truffle poutine, thai peanut duck wings, and truffle mushroom risotto.All of the items were rich in flavor, but everything was cold (like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a bit before it was brought to us). The thai duck wings were our favorite item. The poutine was soggy but would be a hit if the fries were a little crispier. My husband had two Dirty Dianas (a twist on a dirty vodka martini), and he thought they were amazing!We didn't complain because the bartender was extremely busy! She didn't stop moving the entire time we were there. She was hustling to make drinks and serve the customers seated at the bar. You could tell the entire staff was in go, go, go-mode. Everyone was very pleasant despite the rush. I might give it another try in the future if I'm in the area.

The wobbly olive is a fantastic bar known for their creative cocktails. I haven't tried to food but they all look great and will definitely will come back to try the food. The ambience is warm and inviting, it was a perfect date night for me and my fiance. The bartender was great, she was attentive, super friendly, and made sure we had everything throughout the time we were there for drinks. I asked for a lychee drink and it was delicious. Overall, the service was outstanding.

Great cocktails and a great server in Alex. Sweet, attentive, kind, and a knowledgeable. We had calamari, which was a little chewy but tasty. Oil could have been hotter for a quick flash fry. My steak salad was good but could have been more seasoned or creative. Husband enjoyed his steak sandwich and loved the truffle fries. We'd go back for the yummy cocktails for sure, pages and pages to choose from!

This place is unique and I love it. I sat at the bar when I first came here to check it out. Service is quick and the bartenders knew a lot about the menu items and had great recommendations. What's cool about this place is all the different drinks they can do martini style. I ended up getting stuck on the Passion Fruit & Honey beverage which has passion fruit rum, honey syrup, passion fruit juice, fresh lime juice, and a basil leaf. This drink was so yummy! I stuck with appetizers this visit and did their Calamari + Stuffed Cremini Mushrooms. Both options were fresh and flavorful. I liked the sweet chili sauce with the calamari the best. The mushrooms were my top pick though as these were so good with the chorizo that was inside. I really enjoyed the different flavors on the palette with the food and drinks. The interior is super cute too. It gives the place a modern and classy vibe to it. I even enjoyed the music they played during my stay as it was EDM and chill music for the most part. Music plays a huge role in my visits to places so if I hear music that I love it only makes the experience better!

The food was delicious and ambience was perfect for a night out with friends. Service was unusually slow and almost cancelled the dinner order.

Disappointing. Three of us went when it opened at 4. The waitress seemed to be rushing us out and was not knowledgeable about the food or drink menu. There were only three other people in the place so it was off putting to feel so rushed. We ordered the steak salad, the red pepper dip and the calamari. The dip and salad both tasted like they'd been sitting in the fridge for a while. The calamari was soggy.The drinks we ordered were good. Make sure you eat before coming for a drink and save yourself.
