The Senate Bar & Grill

One of the best bars I've ever been to, the staff are great, bartenders are friendly. I met the owners they're good people. The establishment has history, they have karaoke night on Tuesdays I believe, and on the weekends they have a dance floor and DJ in the back. Good crowd, no issues there, the security are on top of things. They have a pool table (billiards).So far I have had the following and they're delicious:-limited edition burger -pudgy's Chili Wrap with cream cheese (you can add steak beef) its really good.-Philly Cheesesteak sandwich Snacks n' appetizers:-Spicy Cauliflower w/blue cheese or ranch (once you pop, you don't stop) -chips n salsa-chicken tenders-wings

First time going here and we're a bit confused with the seating since we hadn't seen a server. I believe they had one or two staff serving both the inside and outside. We were given menus and ordered drinks. The drinks were amazing. We had the crown apple sour one shot, 2 for $5. We ordered the 30 pc buffalo wings and a friend ordered the lemon pepper. The lemon pepper wings had little to no seasoning. And the buffalo had just a bit of sauce. I would've loved to have more buffalo sauce especially since we had so many wings. The limited edition burger is why I give it 4 stars instead of 3. It was a great burger and their special sauce is very tasteful. The salad dressing options weren't much, I don't like ranch and there wasn't thousand island or the Italian dressing but they were able to use something similar. The seating areas outside had aLive performer which is so nice especially since they sang really good. The inside had great music and a great bar area. We didn't try the pool table up top but they do have a servicible table. The waiter was friendly and helpful with the menu items and kept our drinks filled. Overall I would come here again since it's by the river walk and it's a great establishment.

Went here during a work trip. Originally tried to go to the nearby brewhouse, but they didn't have any available tables. Ended up ordering the Senate sandwich with chips and a draft beer. I'm addition to the chips that came with my sandwich, we were served homemade tortilla chips and salsa. Both were amazing! The chips were light and crunchy and the salsa very flavorful with a bit of heat. The sandwich was also pretty great. It wasn't fancy, but the sausage patty was flavorful and the bread soft. The ambiance and service were great too. Again, nothing fancy, but perfect place to grub and drink if you're in town.

Love the appetizers! Staff was friendly and loved the atmosphere. A really great local spot with history and drinks if you choose to have a cold one! Love this spot!

This visit was... disappointing. After driving several hours on a road trip, my boyfriend and I decided to stop here to eat. Although the service was decent and there weren't any issues with the building, the food was awful. The burger I ordered had cheese that looked like it had been sitting out for a while, and the fries were gross. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs, and he didn't like any of it. The hash browns were a super weird consistency and also were very gross. Do not recommend, and I really wish we decided to go somewhere else.

I walked in on a Sunday night and this place is cracking! Plenty of women and great atmosphere. I was greeted immediately by the bartender and was seat at the bar. They have a great selection of local beers and cocktails. The staff was friendly and they were on it when it came to service. Unfortunately I wasn't able to check out the entire menu because I came a bit late but the fried food menu was available. I enjoyed a good dark beer that was local. If you're new to town I'd say come by and have a drink.

Visited the Senate on May 20, 2022 and had an absolute wonderful time. The pool tables upstairs were busy and fun; we were able to hop right into some pool games and played for quite some time with new friends. We enjoyed the relaxing divey atmosphere in the main bar area, and even dipped our toes in the louder dance area in the back that was so full of life and excitement. The beer selection was incredible with an amazing special we didn't forget; 2 for $5 miller high life's. They tasted great and we enjoyed many over the period of several hours. Overall, a magical environment with a certain ambience and radiance we remembered and looked forward to visiting again in the future.Flash forward to May 19th, 2023. We walked in to pool tables closed, the downstairs bar area quite lifeless and lackluster, and the dance area with not a single person or really any music playing. On top of it all, 2 for $5 high life's no longer existed. Really quite a tragedy to us. Instead we were greeted with $2.75 nearly expired high life's that left us feeling empty inside.Our experience will not be forgotten. The joy and love that once filled our hearts, love for a favorite local dive feels ripped from our souls and replaced with a sad, longing feeling.To the Senate, we are disappointed. But we will be back, possibly in one year's time and we still long for the environment we once fell in love with and we have hope that it will return to its radiance one day. If i could put a half a star I would and that is solely for existing. The food was cold and lacked flavor. The service was horrible and the owner was seemingly drunk and could not have been more offensive. Im not sure if she was homophobic, flat out racist, or both. Go anywhere but here!!!!!!!! It was a dirty place I would never come back to.

Food was good. Service was good. We had lunch. It was normal bar food. Overall, I would go back. I like the history of the bar. Lot of old Pueblo pictures.

We played bingo on valentine's day and they had space open for a cool and casual evening with good music. Slightly loud but a wonderful homey feel. Food was a unique selection and came out rapidly, only qualm was the has brown could have been dried a touch longer to avoid being damp. Our server was wonderful and quick, especially considering how busy he was by himself! Cheers.
