Enjoyed the circus 54 show while in town. The dog act was my favorite. Unexpected fun. Don't miss it!

This small-production theatre is full of local talent, but don't mistake that to mean it's shows are any less stellar than the big dogs. The wife and I stopped in to watch Fa-La-La Christmas Cabaret. The hour and half show had has laughing nonstop between the (sometimes cheesy yet riotous) comedy bits drizzled atop some spectacular circus acts. From acro yoga to cordelette to aerial hoop and silk to even stilts, The MAT brought it's A-game. At intermission, the theater offered some delicious looking treats, chief among them was the strawberry cheesecake (all within reasonable prices). The stage was small and quaint. The stadium seating space was intimate, small enough to allow for interaction between the talent and guests. At the beginning, the owner even greeted each patron, offering them some chocolates. All in all, the MAT is definitely worthy of a local Friday night.

What a great little community theatre! My husband and I picked up last minute tickets to see a burlesque show and what a blast. It's a small place but they serve drinks and lots of snacks and desserts. I believe we had a cookie and brownie. Both were delicious. The show was great and the performers were entertaining and fun. I definitely want to come back for more events. The audience and people were super friendly too. A couple in our row recommended the Circus of the Night show. The parking lot was a little fun but we found street parking no problem.Overall this place is a gem and a great little part of the community!

What a gift to the community! Such a cool theatre, with an amazing, welcoming staff. My two young boys are both attending MAT camps this summer, and it has been such a positive experience for them. It is clear that the staff care so much about the work that they do, and they show so much respect to my little guys! I highly recommend becoming involved with this theatre, as a participant or by attending a show!

My first show at the MAT was "To Kill a Mockingbird". I didn't have high hopes to be honest, and walking in and seeing the tiny stage lowered my expectations by another notch. Boy, was I delightfully surprised! The acting was first-rate and the staging ( is that the right term for how they move about and place themselves?) was wonderful. I was thoroughly entertained throughout the show. I recommend it 100% to anyone considering seeing it.Based upon my experience with that show my wife and I took our 6 year old grandson to see "Clown on a Bike" on "opening morning". It was a very fun show. My grandson was delighted and I was pleased to realize I was not the only adult laughing along as well! After the show they had crafts, cookies, and milk downstairs which just added to the fun family atmosphere. If the show is still running I highly recommend it for folks with young kids.

Went down to the Springs today for the Colorado Improv Festival. We followed our directions to a T, but when we arrived, I thought to myself, "There is no way there is a theatre somewhere in there, much less one than could host an improv festival."Fortunately, I was wrong. The setup is a bit labyrinthine, but the theatre space itself is really great, and there's a lot of seating. Even cooler? Backstage, they have a whole seating area set up for actors not onstage to watch the action on a big TV screen complete with couches, comfy chairs, you name it. Really awesome. Add to that the insanely perfect view you have right from the front door and the sizable porch for people to visit during intermission, and you're set.Oh, and HELLO, improv. Please support the arts, folks. It's good stuff. Funny. You'll like it.

My husband and I love the MAT. It's a local gem that we treat all of our out of town visitors to. The monthly RIP improv is such a great night out!! We love "Babette" and look forward to seeing what she will do next at all the other shows out side the improv we go to. Check out the amazing bathrooms while you are there, the art is incredible.

Went and saw Millibo put on, "To Kill a Mockingbird". The best production of anything I have seen in quite some time. The creativity, the intimacy, and the delivery of the production is the reason to see theater. They do it right.I am incredibly happy this gem of a theater company decided to move down the street, otherwise I might have never known about them.

I have been working at The MAT for about a month now, and I consider myself incredibly lucky. Everyone involved with this theater puts their hearts and souls into what they do. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met, and they treat each person who walks through those doors like family. The shows themselves have never disappointed. I have been able to view each performance since I have arrived, from the kids first series to the improv to the comedy cabaret, and each of them has been so special. While working the box office, I consistently hear laughter reverberating through the walls. I get to see the smiles on everyone's faces as they leave. It's truly magical. As for the venue, I sadly never saw the old location on pecan street, but I can vouch for this one. They managed to convert an old church into an artsy, fun, beautiful theater. The bathrooms alone are worth a visit. Brigitta and a few others created these beautiful mosaics in each bathroom! Seriously! Check them out!I cannot recommend this place enough. Parties, shows, classes, whatever it is you are looking for. You will not be disappointed.
