The Manhattan Bar

Local dive bar. From small town Midwest, and I've fallen in love with a dive bar or two. Doesn't get better than Leadville. Well, maybe more Bourbon. But as far as dive bars go, it's one of the best.

I disagree with those saying this place caters to locals. As an outsider, I felt right at home and the service was great. I guess just don't walk in with a chip on your shoulder. This is a true dive bar so if you're into dive bars you'll feel right at home. It's the kind of place where the sink is separate from the actual bathroom for example. Pool tables in back but we stuck to having some drinks at the booth by the bar. They've got all your standard beers and liquors and even have craft beer options too. If you're looking for an espresso martini or a clean hipster vibe, skip it. If you're looking for a come as you are laidback place you'll feel right at home. Service is friendly.

Cooper was absolutely incredible behind the bar, we ordered a Manhattan as the bar would suggest and she absolutely knocked it out of the park. We sat in a booth near the bar and despite it being extremely busy (with cooper the only one to take care of us all) she still managed to come by and check on how it was. For a bar named manhattans they had limited whiskey/bourbon options but cooper is looking to change it and I for one believe in her. She is the reason I would come back

Cool classic old school bar on the main strip in Leadville CO. Opened in 1937 and has been the locals CHEERS spot since. Beautiful crown molded back bar w mirror and a copper ceiling to boot. Cold beer and mixed drinks too. The views here in Leadville are sick! Stop by and see for yourself ! Happy Thanksgiving Yelpers

For locals only, bad vibes for outsiders......also, they smoke right outside and it all blows right back in. Will not be back, empty drink for over 10minutes and I had to leave. Go to Scarlett, friendly service right off the bat! You guys can keep your old school style or evolve,Just not for me.

This place is hilarious, and watch out, it gets full of Leadvillians! It's not like a Leadvillian is a bad person, they just encourage you to drink more, and when you only stop in for a beer for old nostalgic reasons, you end up drinking five beers and doing three shots. Yes, it's that kind of bar where you will inevitably toss back more than you ever expected. You will not be driving away anytime soon, so you might as well walk to the end of the block and have Chinese food, which is also fantastic. The gals behind the bar, they are a hoot! The bathrooms don't have a sink so you have to walk around the corner to wash your hands. It makes it easy for you to know who does/doesn't wash their hands.

Super friendly place! Strong and well made drinks. Cheap. Local spot with dicey feel. Just my kind of place! Nothing else needs to be said.

I don't understand the overall rating for this bar. It's a great bar, and my favorite in Leadville! The locals are friendly and welcoming. The staff is great & the drinks are delicious, strong pours & affordable. What more could you ask for? We stop in anytime we're in Leadville.

Awesome place! Super laid back and our bartender Cooper was amazing!!! If you want a fun local vibe, this is the place!!!

Hostile locals, and I've live in Colorado my whole life.... Although drinks were cheap.
