Course is in great shape. Horrible tee time management. We were the first tee time of the morning going off the 1st hole intending to play 18. When we hit the turn and proceeded to the 10th tee, the starter yelled and informed us that there were still 2 more groups to tee off ahead of us.They send 9-hole tee times off the 10th hole in front of 18-hole players making the turn. Fine. But they overbook the 9-hole tee times off the 10th. We had a 6:30am tee time and they booked times off the 10th ending at 8:30am. Assuming a pace of play of 2+ hrs for the front 9 is ridiculous, especially considering the front is par 32. We finished the front 9 in 1.5 hrs and were told we had to wait a half hour to continue our round off the 10th hole. The starter and pro shop staff were rude when we asked for a refund and told us "this is just how it works".Not worth the hassle, fees, and slow play. Course is short (par 65). Plenty of better par 72 courses in the area for your money.

Love this beautiful course! Great views of the foothills. So scenic and fun. There is plenty of parking. The driving is top notch. The carts are nice. The Homestead Grill has good food at a reasonable price. The City of Lakewood takes really good care of their courses. The Staff is always friendly.

This review reflects a scheduled and catered party at the Homestead golf course club house. After looking into numerous venues to rent for my wife's party we chose Homestead. The party planner, Amy, was very helpful with all questions and concerns, booked the room and sent us home with a packet containing more info concerning all aspects of having a party at the facility. The day of the party we were allowed in an hour ahead of time and had minimal decorating to do. Amy and her staff had everything set up and ready to go and people started showing up. Dinner was served promptly and was absolutely delicious. We had around 30 people in attendance and fit perfectly within the room. Everyone had a great time and loved the venue, the party ended and Amy and staff handled the clean up. A great decision choosing Amy and Homesteads club house.

Today made a total of three times we had breakfast there. First time was great and sitting outside on the deck was very pleasant. The second time we went the food was unremarkable. The third time my wife had the avocado toast with poached eggs and I had the breakfast burrito. It claimed to have chorizo in it and there were more homestyle potatoes in it than chorizo and the iced tea was just a step above water. We won't be returning and instead will be going to Le Peep or Fox Hollow, which is ironically owned in partnership with Homestead.

The food at the grill has really gone down hill over the last year. The portions have become way smaller. Seems like we get charged for every little thing. My mom had the brie sandwich tonight, she is 83 and can never eat the whole thing. Tonight she cleaned her plate. That is how small her portions were. Side salads and portions of fries are tiny! It really makes us think twice of walking up the street for dinner. Bring back the old portions. There are too many businesses that want our business! Service is great as always!

Tee time Managemant is terrible. Rude staff. 90 degree cart rule along with tee time management makes for a 6 hour round. They love to enforce every single rule. Won't be back. Recommend staying away.

Cart lady visited us on holes 1 and 10 so didn't need drinks. came and confiscated our drinks on 15 AFTER spending 50 and tipping 20. literally made us open our cooler and took every beer. staff inside warned us and group ahead of us about crazy cart lady. first and last time at this course.

Less than ideal management- Pro staff run 9 hole players off the back well into when 18-hole players make the turn, causing a 4 group backup. Staff didn't seem fazed at the massive delays, blaming others. What was a decent pace turned into a massive backup and extended round.Greens are rock hard and crazy slow. Lost my business

Both of these courses are waaaay overpriced (especially Fri-Sun); there are SO many better courses in Denver for the price of Homestead & Fox Hollow (even in the SW part of Denver where these two courses are located) Homestead is essentially a long executive course (par 65 I believe) and the only challenges/course defenses are elevation changes and unnecessarily long rough around the greens and literally right off the cart path. So if you don't hit the fairway and miss by just a few yards you essentially have to step on your ball to find it, which I think is unnecessary for some crappy neighborhood course that doesn't host championship events to justify having these aspects to the course. And Fox Hollow just has a crappy layout on all three 9's, so it's boring and frustrating as hell to play. Main course defense at FH is hole layouts that are way too hard for the average weekend golfer or anyone above a ~10 handicap to play and actually enjoy. So anyone who compliments the architecture or layout of these courses is either 1) really good and can just overpower these courses, or 2) so bad at golf they don't understand what makes the game fun. Also the staff and cart people at Homestead are a bunch of old, grumpy farts that are absolutely miserable to interact with. (Sorry boomer. Wait, no. Actually not sorry) The only employees that don't suck are the restaurant staff. And these courses are notorious for taking your beer if you bring your own. Not because they're concerned about their liquor license being penalized. No, they'll take it because the cart ladies get offended that you aren't buying anything from them. (They're all 50+ with wrinkled, leather skin, so I don't think they qualify as cart "girls) Advice from a Denver local that's been playing golf here for almost 14 years: go play Broken Tee, The Links, Raccoon Creek, or any other course in Littleton or Denver. Literally everything about these two courses suck and I will never play them again. Just driving by them annoys me.
