The wrong carpet that floor trader sold us. The piece by the window was what we got when we ordered more of what we 1st purchased.

We stopped in and were immediately welcomed by Jim -- very personable and knowledgeable. We were looking for wood-look vinyl for our kitchen floor and found exactly what we were looking for.The price was really reasonable, in comparison to both Lowe's and Home Depot (and the selection was a lot better). We got a call the day before our installation, to confirm the job and Eric arrived at 8:15 the next morning. He was actually early!!Eric did a really wonderful job -- our house is old, old and the vinyl was going over very old linoleum (horrid old stuff!!) Our kitchen floor was completely done by about 11:00. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!! My husband and I want to thank both Jim and Eric and let them know that we'll be back!! Thanks!!After our great experience with the vinyl flooring -- we went back, looking for carpet for our enclosed porch. As we walked in the door -- Jim welcomed us back!! Remembered us -- nice! We found carpet we love and scheduled installation for the following week. Day before installation, again a phone call to confirm. Again -- the installer was EARLY!!!! As far as I'm concerned, the service is great! Our carpet is lovely and we're very pleased and will absolutely recommend.

Doing a basement finish and finding carpet the blended in with the upstairs carpet to put in the basement. One of the full price carpet retailers recommended the floor trader. I had never heard of them, but I am sure glad they were mentioned to me! This is one of the discount carpet places that sells discontinued carpeting and it is so worth it!After visiting several different places and not being able to find anything even close to my existing carpet color, I walked in and was helped by Kay. She very quickly helped me find a similar color and quality product for my basement. she definitely knows her stuff! Not only that, but it was such a reasonable price!I think the only minimal downside was the carpet installers and their slight carelessness in getting the carpet into the basement. After forcing down a couple chunks of carpet where they scratched up the banisters and the front door they started folding it differently so that they could get it down easier in subsequent trips, but I would not say that they were extremely careful. One of the trips where one of the guys was trying to carry it down and it unrolled. Instead of going back up the stairs, re-rolling it and making it down without incident, instead they forced the carpet down the stairs. Not horrible, but not excellent either. For this I knock off a star.Dealing with everyone here was very easy, professional and there were no complications at all. Need carpet? I recommend this business highly! Go here first! The carpet meets my expectations and looks really nice!

Floor Traders was recommended by a friend so when we decided to take out the carpet and put in hardwood we stopped in to see them. We picked out what we wanted and my husband told them he had a history of being in the wood business and wanted their best installer to do the work. They showed up on time and for the first 3 hours we were very happy. I stepped out for a couple of hours and when I came back, the progress was moving right along. Around dinner time I opened up our microwave and one of the workers had used it and his lunch exploded all over the inside. None of them ever asked for permission to use it and even though the employee was reprimanded, they never cleaned it up. In the process of laying down the floor they use some type of glue. One of the employees stepped in it and tracked it in the living room, kitchen and dining room. Water didn't clean it up. Floor cleaner didn't clean it up. I was afraid to use anything else because I didn't want to ruin the finish. It took two weeks before someone came out to finish cleaning the spots. This was back at the end of February beginning of March. Then we ended up in Covid times and we couldn't show off the floor to our friends. If it had been done on time we could have celebrated it. We had talked to the salesperson about having vent covers made out of wood. When the installers came we asked about them. He knew nothing-they were not on the truck. The salesperson should have called us to let us know they weren't available in our wood type. When we asked about them, we were quoted that we could get some and they would be $70 each. Why wouldn't they tell us this at the outset? I ended up painting and reinstalling the ones we took out. First one went in fine. Second one was tight. The other three would not fit because the holes were not cut right. When the manager came to inspect the work, we noted that a piece of the wood had a defect in it. He said they could try to remove it but couldn't guarantee that the repair would be 100% because of the location it was in. Since then, I was sitting at the dining room table, and my sock caught on a split in the wood. It's hardly visible but certainly would have been noticed at installation. With the problems that we had I dread having to call them to fix the split wood. Historically, they wouldn't call back anyway. Even before installation, the calls my husband made weren't returned or weren't returned until up to a week later. We so regret going with Floor Traders. If you decide to, I hope you have a better experience then we did.

I went in looking for a 3'x7' piece of carpet, typically called a remnant. I'm carpeting a storage closet and wasn't concerned with color, style or pattern of the carpet. This is the second piece of carpet to go in this closet which is L shaped. Not only did the manager wait on me he had me describe my current piece, matched my carpet to a piece he had in stock, but he also got out a carpet knife and straight edge and cut it to the exact size I needed. As I mentioned before this was the second remnant I've bought for this closet. I purchased the first on Academy Blvd for $32 and they didn't cut it. Floor Traders charged me $6 and cut it to specs. And the manager treated me like an important customer. I'll be back next time no matter what I need for my floor

My family went into this store and purchased some carpet. They took our info and the lot number of the carpet in case we needed to order another piece. Well we did. We called and ordered the extra piece, paid for it and drove from Leadville to pick it up believing in good faith that they sold us the correct product. Well they didn't. We got it home and went to install it, it was not the same color OR PILE!!! We called and they told us we were SOL. We paid 108 dollars for a piece of carpet 39 inches 12 feet that we cannot use. Worst customer service ever. Shamefull treatment. Give your customers what they pay for or refund their money. Good business is good business.

The assistant manager, Kay Wood, took care of our situation personally. We had a short time frame in which to get new carpet installed throughout the house we just bought before our furniture arrived. She helped us identify a carpet that fit our requirements and that was available from the supplier within the week, and then worked to get the installation scheduled in time for the furniture to arrive. Throughout the interaction, she was always friendly and cheerful, and she replied to all of our calls and texts right away. The installers also did a great job laying the carpet, and the product quality is excellent. We couldn't be happier.

I am remiss in writing reviews for this company. We have used them three times, with wonderful results. My last event was an emergency situation where I had relatives moving into my home in less than a week, and the downstairs master bedroom had gotten soaked with rain and hail and was full of mildew. Kay was able to help me choose carpeting and get the contractor out to my home the day before relatives moved in. She new the urgency and made it happen. Beautiful work!My upper master bedroom and office have the most beautiful tile at a very reasonable price. I will not go anywhere else than The Floor Trader.

I stopped into Floor Trader hoping to get just ten tiles of which I had a match. I was immediately greeted by a friendly and smiling staff member named Kay. She listened to what I needed and took me an area to view the tiles. Before she left me on my own she offered me a cup of coffee. WhenI could not find what I needed, Kay recommended another store. What I was impressed about Floor Trader is they seem more interested in helping me than making a sale. The other store that Kay recommended had what I needed. All the more I was so appreciative what a friendly store Floor Trader was and that they offered an alternative.

** Given 1 star because 0 was not an option **Absolutely DO NOT use this company. Let's start from the beginning on what a disaster of customer service and quality of work has been done. When they removed the baseboards, they ruined multiple planks and boards. Pieces chipped off and they placed them back on the walls as if nothing was wrong. At one point, they told us we damaged the trim, not them. After they removed the carpet and padding, the baseboards needed to be lowered from their previous location to meet the new flooring. When this was done, a strip of unpainted area was left above the baseboards. At no point in time did anyone doing the job think this was a problem. We were told we would need to purchase wider base boards or paint at our own expense to get rid of this line. Obviously we wanted our home to look nice so we ended up purchasing baseboards from them at cost (or so we were told). They were installed, again without any true craftsmanship or attention to detail. The corners don't line up, the nails being placed were still exposed, and we once again, are responsible for painting them. Fast forwarding almost a year into dealing with this company brings me to my current frustration. Part of the floor started to come up as if a nail was being pushed up from underneath the panel. We called Floor Trader to schedule it to be repaired and were asked to send pictures of the damage so they could send someone out. We sent photos and a service date was scheduled. The first time the handyman came out, he looked at the floor and said we would need to reschedule to have it fixed. He came out a second time, looked at the damage, and said I need a tool I don't have. After leaving, he did not call to reschedule the repair and we had to reach back out to get on his books which are typically about 1-2 weeks out. The third time he came out, he placed a 2.5 ft cut in the floor and then said he broke the tool he had so he would need to come back. He left the hole in the floor which we have had to cover with tape for safety reasons as my 4 kids could easily get hurt on it. Again, we had to call to reschedule because he didn't follow up as he said he would. We were scheduled for this morning and he drove to our house to tell us he would not be able to fix the floors due to personal medical reasons. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of responsibility, quality of care/work, and customer service provided by this company. Most people would think it would be easy to reschedule with another handyman, but this is untrue as he is the sole provider for the type of floors we have. Looking at the overall reviews for this company prior to contracting them to do our floors was 100% the opposite of the experience we have had. DO NOT use this company unless you want to come out of pocket for their mistakes and you want to drag out repairs that should be an easy fix.
