I have lived in Colorado Springs for 28 years and early on discovered The Eagle Dancer, which is absolutely the best shop in Manitou Springs for authentic Native American Jewelry, crafts and fetishes. Everything is bought off rez, so the Eagle Dancer is not like other shops with Southwest jewelry and art, which, when you turn each item over, was made in Taiwan. I regularly buy beautiful, authentic jewelry here, and crafts, such as chokers, and some of the items are actually signed by the artists. The prices are reasonable, too, and you are supporting the Native Craftsmen and women on rez when you buy from this shop.

A unique Shoppe where many interesting, beautiful Southwest jewelry pieces can be found at reasonable prices. The assistance I received wasn't overbearing and the associate zeroed in on my taste and budget! I found a gorgeous turquoise ring I absolutely love! I returned the next day with my out-of-town company who purchased gifts for family back home! They were surprised to learn I, too, was new to this shop! We were treated like "old friends"! More to see than just jewelry!

Good deals. Purchased my mother a turtle shell rattle like the ones her grandmother used to make. Bought my son a decorative tomahawk for his room. And I got myself a ring. 50% off everything and the prices were already fair.

In response to the 2 star review: Howlite (white buffalo) is a beautiful stone but it is not a turquoise. Do not be confused or misled into believing that howlite is white turquoise. Because this unique turquoise from the Dry Creek Mine is as rare as the sacred buffalo, the Indians call it "Sacred Buffalo" Turquoise. The confusion can happen quickly and I am sure by no means was it intentional. If you ask for white buffalo we will show you howlite, sacred buffalo turquoise on the other hand is something we do not carry often. Thank you!

On a trip from California I visited manitou springs 3 times which included 2 visits to this lovely shop. The first I bought a lovely mother of pearl ring from a talkative woman, all their rings were 50% off so why not? The second time I had to go back because a stone fell out of my ring, super bummed but I was lucky to still be in the vicinity. Fully prepared for a barter and crazy argument ( since the receipt plainly gave the name of the shop/price/date no detail on the purchased item) I left the house and ventured on a quest... to the Eagle Dancer. I went back, receipt in hand, explained my situation and with ease Glen tended to my concern. He said he would do a fair trade, so I traded my damaged ring for an opal ring that turned out to be one size smaller.Being myself I fell in love with another ring and bought that as well. The customer service here was superb, Glen was extremely informational and obliging. As I chose a ring other customers entered/exited the store and one woman came in with a ring where the stones were loose, Glen tightened/fixed the ring for free-no questions asked. Knowing that they don't make their products, some of them you have to watch out for so I would recommend having the salesperson examine it before the sell it to you...especially if you're visiting. Overall, if I visit manitou springs again, I would definately check out this shop just to see what the have to offer. It's fair prices, magnificent customer service, and unique offerings make it worth the pit stop in good ol Manitou Springs, Co. P.s. I would only like to subtract a .5 point for the stone falling out, if it didn't I never would've experience their excellent customer service.
