The Blue Stag Saloon

Blue Stag Saloon sits smack dab in the heart of Breckenridge's Main Street. It used to operate as a former watering hole and now functions as one of Colorado's quintessential mountain lodge gastropubs.We were perusing Main Street and ended up being hungrier than we anticipated. There are a few places in Breck I really enjoy frequenting, but I was in the mood for something new. We had stumbled by Blue Stag numerous times and it felt like we should give it the ol' college try.It was a beautiful weekday afternoon with our out-of-town family. In fact, it was our first outing with our newborn; stroller and all! Blue Stag embodies the mountain vibes with wood panels and ceilings and a big tap list of Colorado beers. The menu is large and varied, but there doing something right.BUFFALO CHICKEN RANCH PIZZA ($20.85) // Shredded Chicken, Chopped Bacon, Ranch Base, Red Onion, Mozzarella, Buffalo Drizzle. Full of flavor. Well seasoned, crisp crust from the wood fired oven, and that classic buffalo taste we all know and love. I couldn't believe a place like this produced such a great tasting pizza!Blue Stag also boasts a front and back patio, in addition to a good sized dining room with multiple rooms and some bar seats. Whether you're a local or a tourist, you'll be sure to find something worthwhile at Blue Stag.

After a brisk morning hike, we were looking for something hearty, but not overly filling. The food was fine, nothing spectacular. Now the service that was spectacular, Emma was very attentive, even though she was very busy and always had a friendly smile for all of her tables. The back patio is lovely. Sadly, when it's very busy and there's only one restroom you gotta keep your eyes peeled for an opening

MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE IN BRECKENRIDGE!!!Holy smokes the FOOD is amazing. The chicken on the wrap had great seasonings. Husband loved his soup and tacos. I'd eat here again for sure. Casual relaxed atmosphere. Cool building. Wait Staff very nice and service was attentive

The food, the cocktails, the service, this place is amazing!I had the bison chili and the kickin chicken and wow! What a great combo! The chicken sandwich is the perfect mix between sweet and spicy and the chili has a great kick to it. And the cocktails actually have alcohol in them not like most places!! Amazing!

The mushroom and swiss burger came with a Beyond meat Patty, mushrooms and aioli sauce. It was perfect! The sweet potato fries on the side were yummy! Chocolate cake was super moist!They have a great outdoor area with a fireplace and can accommodate bigger groups

They allow dogs on the patio so we sat in a shaded area (they have lots of umbrellas), since it was a hot one. We got a chicken Caesar wrap and the tacos. Both were flavorful and delicious. The only issue was the French fries were extremely salty. The staff was nice and service was good but it isn't a place you're getting exceptional anything. Nice place to stop for lunch and cool off in the summer heat.

Just a fun breck spot. Unique cabin feel. Kind of a novelty/tourist vibe, but that's the entire town of breck right now. The pizza was actually very excellent!

My family came here after a hike, and we all got the bison burgers! Vibes were super cozy and chill inside. It wasn't too busy when we went. We ordered the rattlesnake skins because they sounded unique. Never imagined myself eating rattlesnake sausage lol, but It honestly tasted like normal sausage to me! Super great combo with the crispy potato skins and sauce. Would definitely get this starter again. The bison burgers were amazing as well; meat was super lean and juicy. Did not taste greasy at all! The menu says they serve shoestring fries, but they were just regular cut French fries. Overall, we enjoyed everything we ate here. We paid around $17 for the rattlesnake skins and $22 for each burger. Service was good, no complaints there! When coming to this area, you will park in a lot and walk to your destination!

A fun little stop before dinner. Grab a drink and the chips and queso! Right off Main Street.

Ask them to print you bill before you pay! They add gratuity on my bill and then when they brought the credit card machine over they had gratuity of 28% selected. I switched it to 20% so I paid 20% gratuity on my 18% gratuity that I already was charged! Shame on you! I won't be back!
