The Angry Clover

I ordered, to go, the corn beef and cabbage meal for lunch. It was delicious! The garlic mashed potatoes tasted homemade and they gave me plenty of corned beef. The cabbage was tender and perfectly cooked. I would have preferred a white gravy instead of brown gravy but that's just my own personal preference. I think many people don't realize they have a to go menu because I did not see it advertised on their website. I called in the order and it was ready in 15 minutes, so really fast! Of course I called around lunchtime which is probably not their busy time. The waitress/bartender was pleasant and greeted me when I walked in asking if I had the to go order. The place looked nice and seemed a typical neighborhood bar.

I created their Yelp page a couple of years ago and the owner yelled at me for creating it. Sorry, not sorry? We stop in from time to time. They have great daily deals like half off wings on Mondays making 10 wings $6. Probably the cheapest deal in town. I absolutely love their buffalo sauce. It is very vinegary just the way I like it. The wings are cooked well and have great flavor. Tuesdays they have $1 ground beef tacos and $2 chicken tacos. They aren't the best but what do you expect for the price. On Tuesdays though, they have poker and bingo and it very crowded and very loud. It is annoying to be crammed up against the poker tables when you are trying to have dinner. They have other specials but not sure what they are. Those are the only two I have gone for. They have a great TV situation for watching football. And they play sound unlike a lot of other Aurora bars. The service is hit or miss depending on how busy they are. usually at the bar you will get good service. Tables depends. I need to try more stuff on the menu but what we have tried are all pretty good. I like the green chile nachos but they do get soggy towards the bottom so I ask for an extra basket of chips to dip. If you don't mind a loud bar (bands, karaoke, etc) then you are good.

Angry Clover has got the crazy deals. 2 for 1 drinks during happy hour. On Tuesday they have $1 beef tacos and $2 chicken tacos. On Wednesday a free beer with a burger entree. Definitely all you could ask for in a dive bar. It's a spot that the locals like to hang.Since this an Irish Pub hints the Clover in the name, we came here for St Patrick's Day. I got their corn beef and cabbage. It did the job! The cabbage was very tender and the corn beef was pretty flavorful. I have also gotten their fish and chips. I enjoyed it but it was nothing special. Their Taco Tuesday tacos are not very good but they are cheap so take that how it is. Besides their food and full bar they've got live music, pool tables, dart boards, and plenty of TVs to watch.Service is okay. It always seems like our waitress has 7 tables so if it gets busy it may take a while to order food or get your check. The one downside is that I don't get good service here. When I asked for the Wi-Fi the server did not know what the password was and said that the Wi-Fi isn't very good anyway. In summary: come here for the drink deals.

It's rare that an establishment shines brighter than its ownership, but The Angry Clover does... Despite the horrific ownership (who have been known to be overly political and borderline abusive to their staff), the spirit of this establishment lives on in its friendly staff, great food, good atmosphere and amazing bands which perform there.

Our waitress was attentive, but it was quiet in the bar. Even though they have cleaned up the place with remodeling it is dirty (see pics). Menu had stains from I don't know what and the floor was still littered with trash. Drinks were strong (we ordered doubles). Angry Clover is more annoyed than angry.

HOLY TACO TUESDAY!!!! $1 Beef and $2 shredded chicken tacos (soft or crunchy) till 8pm! Get out of here. How is this possible? Well, it is! I had been here in September late night to see a band with some friends. I had no idea about the tacos! The tacos are simple. Meat, cheese, tomato and lettuce. Served in a basket at your requested number. Order 1 or 10. It doesn't matter. Upon Chuck's recommendation start with a beef crunchy and a chicken soft and go from there. This way you can figure out if you prefer the flavor of the meat and the texture of its shell for the evening. According to him, depending on what they started to cook first that day has the most flavor. We had this debate though, he was preferring the chicken, while I preferred the beef. Tuesday night will also get you some Free bingo, which was actually a lot of fun and if you win you get a coupon for 50% off your tab up to 8.00 and some free poker if you are an established player or looking to learn. I look forward to making this a bit of a regular thing. Stop in and give them a try.

When here during lunch service on a Saturday. We were surprised to see so many people there considering the time of day and its location. A lot of TVs but severely understaffed, at least at that time. Looks like it would be a really good venue for a concert. A little rough around the edges, but that's what you expect.

I've been coming here since my 21st birthday??( let's just say it's been more than half of my life!) With that being said, I wanted to see what the fuss was about, at this newly remodeled - restaurant, formally known as *McCarthy's*. Im sure i speak on belhalf of most natives of the area... when I say, this place is the same. It just got a *facelift.*As much as I WANTED too say, "go in there!!" Or "You gotta check it out, ONCE!" but nahhhh...from the food to the atmosphere, its still the same neighborhood bar its been for over 30 years! Inside you will find new gray wood-like high tops and low tables, Brand new (and more) tvs for your sporting pleasureOh ya! Remember the Pool Tables?? Too BAD!! They took them out which was a real bummer. I know they are still renovating? All in all... below avg. Bar food with good drinks.

Good food for decent prices except my one gripe is they charge a 12% fee for to go orders, which isn't mentioned before ordering, onlin , or the menu. I'm not sure if that's an automatic tip or if it's just the business being greedy, either way that's crazy.Every time I've been here there's only ever one bartender who's also the waitor for the whole place. Luckily I almost alwyas just get to go food, but if you're eating in you're probably gonna be waiting a while, while she has to wait on and bus everything herself. Maybe the owner can use that 12% fee to hire more staff. Hopefully in the meantime it goes to the bartender/food runner/waitress/busser/phone call taker/all in one.You can pay via a QR code which directs you to toast, but there is no online ordering system even though toast is an online ordering platform. I would order more often if there was online ordering.On another note, the pretzel is massive and soft, it is 100% worth every penny.
