I love international travel and delicious food! When I saw there is finally a Peruvian restaurant in town, I immediately made plans to visit. In 2018, I visited Peru to fulfill a lifelong dream of exploring Machu Picchu in Peru. Little did i know I would so thoroughly love the place, the people, the culture and the food!I had so many memorable foodie memories from my two weeks exploring multiple regions. So, walking into Taytacha was a great way to revive some of these memories. Papas rellenas, papas a la Huancaina, anticuchos, and ceviche were all on the menu. Today, i had the papas rellena and papas a la huancaina with a chicha to drink. The papas rellenas was a baked potato stuffed with beef, onion and raisins that is then fried (I think) with a crispy outer coating and a delicious sauce on top. Also, the papas a la huancaina, boiled potato with a creamy yellow pepper sauce smothering it. So delicious! Next time I come, I'll definitely have the ceviche and anticuchos (grilled beef heart on a skewer).Today, i also picked up some Peruvian popping corn, chulpa. And some wonderful Peruvian lucuma ice cream. The restaurant is brand new. The decor may take some time, but the wonderful food and welcoming service more than makes up for it.

We came in thinking that it was a restaurant. The lady indicated to us to go place the order at the food truck. Fine. We ordered, and went inside the "restaurant" to sit down out of the sun. The lights are all off. The food was tasty. But the portions were minuscule, especially for the price. We spent $60 for two small plates, one of potatoes and one ceviche, and a of rotisserie 1/4 chicken. Nothing spectacular, certainly not worth the price. I will not be coming back.

Delicious and fresh!! This little restaurant used to be a food truck but is now in a small brick and mortar. It's clean, welcoming and has a large menu. We had an empanada and lomo saltado and puerco saltado. SO GOOD! I didn't love the powdered sugar on the empanada but it was easy enough to scrape off. Everything was super fresh, and came out fast. They have a few market items too to take home and cook with. Definitely recommend!!

This place is amazing. The service was insanely fast, which was nice because we were really hungry. They were also really nice and gave us some recommendations on what to try. It was hard to choose because everything looked amazing, but I ended up going with the lomo saltado. The beef was so tender that there was even some pink in the middle of each cut. Super keen eye for detail and just made the sauce that much better.

This was my first time trying this place! Let me tell you, delicious!! Almost to mention great customer service. I've never had Peruvian ceviche and I was not disappointed, you can add spice to it as well. Definitely will be back

Only two stars because food was tasty but they gave a tiny portion of rice. We ordered a whole chicken with the two sides, rice and beans. We told them it was for three people. They only gave enough rice for one person and said "that is one side of rice". When I asked how much for more, she pointed to their "Chinese" style rice for an additional $17. No thanks. Each of us got a couple tablespoons of rice. The floors are sticky especially in the bathroom. Place is messy and unfinished. We will give them more time to straighten things out because they just opened a couple months ago (formerly in food truck). But if they keep giving tiny portions of rice they won't be around long. Latins eat rice. Too bad, because we LOVE Peruvian food. Overall, a pretty bad experience.

This place a small restaurant with friendly service. The lady I interacted with was very kind, and the food was amazing. I love authentic food from around the world, and real Peruvian food is a must try for those who haven't experienced it. Quite different from most South American and Latin foods, and the flavors are something else.

Amazing authentic Peruvian food. Owners are from Lima. Freshly cooked to order. Very friendly. You can eat inside the restaurant even the food is cooked from the foodtruck.

My husband and I have struggled to find good food in Colorado... we do what's called the Colorado rating scale (taking a star off what Yelp says lol)... and I LOVE Peruvian, I got to go to Peru for 6 months and eat there. So I was a little reluctant to try this place, but I had been craving Peruvian for months. We got the causa (2 layers of mashed potatoes with a layer of chicken salad in the middle topped with a slice of hard boiled egg), ceviche (like raw fish marinated in lime juice and salt) and lomo saltado (like Peruvian beef stir fry with tomatoes and onions and French fries). Husband was a bit suspicious with the causa, but he said he was pleasantly surprised and ate it all. I LOVE ceviche, so of course it was perfect. And we thought the lomo saltado was great, we like things a bit saltier though so that was the only thing that we thought the lomo saltado needed (easy fix that we can do ourselves!) we also got some chicha morada (Peruvian sweet purple corn drink) which sounds kinda weird but it was a perfect balance of sweetness with the spices it had !Anyways I cried because this really did meet some expectations about Peruvian here in Colorado Springs. I will definitely be coming back soon as a birthday treat! Next time we go I will take pics of the food... I was too excited this time around and dug right in lol
