Taco Star

Consistently very good Mexican food without even leaving your car. This place is just the right distance from home, so I know I can grab some delicious, authentic tacos and other Mexican food to share with my family and friends.

I have got to say that my expectations were not very high in coming here for the first time. Does not seem like the most authentic of places but the convenience of proximity to my work and the fact they have a drive thru were reasons enough for me to give them a shot. I was the first one of the cars that pulled up at the same time. The guy who took my order was not friendly by any means. After I placed my order, I drove up to the window only to wait there without being greeted at all for a solid 12 minutes. I have a very good feeling that the guy that took my order was also the one making the magic happen in the kitchen AAAND work the window. I'm pretty sure he took all three orders, cooked them all and then helped us at the window. If that's the case, I get it for the sake of having to wash hands I'm between every customer and the handling of food and money. But, it's a bummer when you end up waiting 15 minutes for a breakfast burrito and only to be treated rudely. I can't remember the last time I didn't tip, even through a drive thru. As for the food, I was completely satisfied. Machaca and egg burrito was done right and both the hot and green salsa were enjoyed. I would love to go back but only if I mentally prepare myself for receiving crappy service. According to Yelp, it's totally a thing but I understand that I should be lucky I didn't get the notorious older woman that works there as well.

Have not had issues before with this particular Taco Star, they were in such a rush,not only did they charge for wrong burrito, give us the wrong order,but didn't even bother to offer a refund on my card.

So we tried this for breakfast and the breakfast burritos are amazing. Based on a fellow foodie that suggested Taco Star and must say I'm so glad he did! Will have to go back to try other menu options and am looking forward to it. The employees were super friendly at the drive though and we'll be back for sure.

I'm not even sure where to start with this place, customer service ain't that bad, but I ordered the carne tacos combo, what in gods name is this mess. One burrito tortilla, and some orange rice and almost ghost white beans. Never mind the fact the steak is cooked until every last bit of juice is drained out of it, the hardest and driest carne I've ever had. I'm kinda curious how this is considered tacos.

My coworkers told me this was at one point a great place for breakfast burritos. I had heard conflicting reviews, we decided to try ourselves. First Strike! The man working inside was just plain rude. Second strike the burritos were just ok! Will not return!

Generous servings but flat on carne asade seasonings. No salt, pepper or garlic. Seasoned myself. Could hardly hear the speaker at the drive thru. The order taker at the drive thru is always smiling and friendly.

Its all in the name and those guys know how to pack a taco baby! Fat, flavorful and tender slow marinated juicy pork, beef or chicken. you cant lose with either one. Bada Bing Bada Boom Boom Boom! Just two of those tacos can fill up a greedy teenage boy, I am telling you they are stuffed! the business has a steady flow of customers ALL DAY LONG with every race and nationality you can name. They are open very early or they never close. I see cars lining up at 10 till 5am! The rice is delicious, burritos are addictive and downright dangerous. Menu items like Quesadillas, you will be forced to share its so plentiful. Give these authentic amigos a try and you will know I did not lie!

Good little place!! I'm thankful for casual Mexican drive-thrus like this one right here. Taco Star is in a convenient location and pretty fast service. They have good rice, good salsa verde, and good meat. My family loves the carne asada fries and I love the carne asada burrito plate. It was a little salty but still good! The prices are very reasonable for a large portion. We need more Mexican food like this in the Springs.
