I loved Sweet Basil. We started with the whipped feta, dramatically encased in crispy dough with a drizzle of honey. Perfect to share. Then the tuna tiradito and yellowtail crudo, each so pretty, light and unique. Every bite was amazing. My favorite was the entree, the red snapper, in a light coconut broth. Incredible. Great wine list, friendly service. We sat outside at the peak of aspen foliage. If I was lucky enough to eat here every night, I would!

Delicious meal. A great place to go for a fancy dinner. Even the kids menu had gourmet dishes with distinct presentation. The dishes are interesting and very flavorful.Service was good and and the ambiance is nice.

I was looking forward to trying a Michelin start restaurant. We sat by the bar and started w a bubbly rosé. We came in New Year's Day after all. Time to celebrate. Presentation is amazing. The whipped feta is amazing. Such creamy consistency. The oysters were amazing, salty, spicy and a touch of sweet all at once. Explosion of habit in my mouth. I was a little disappointed in the duck ramen. the Broth was lukewarm, I feel like it should be hot. The noodles were undercooked n had parts that clumped together. Not what I expect on a Michelin restaurant. I supposed i should have sent it back. But I had bubbly n feeling good. Why spoil the moment by a clumpy noodle. Service is friendly n courteous as expected n appreciated.

I've been a loyal customer here for over a decade, always appreciating the wonderful service, drinks, and meals. Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse. The food was overly sweet and almost inedible this time around. We started with the onion lasagna and yellowtail appetizers, but both were disappointingly sweet and lacked flavor. My husband ordered the pork with the latke -- the latke was outstanding, and the pork was cooked well. I chose the beef and broccoli, which I was told would be tender, but it turned out dry and unbalanced. The sauce was excessively sweet, and the tempura broccoli was burnt. When I shared my concerns with the server, her only response was to offer me a box. There was no manager in sight, so we simply paid and left. This was far from the exceptional experiences we've had here in the past. It's disheartening to see the quality decline so much.

We came here for a quick drink and snack. The cocktails were really delicious! The snacks were decent with my favorite being the octopus. It had a creamy nutty sauce and it was super tender. The calamari and shrimp was also good, perfectly buttered but slightly salty. Lastly, the ramen- it wasn't what I expected, but the broth was bright and flavorful with plenty of duck. Overall, would recommend stopping by to try!

Great menu, I'd come back to try more items. Our table had a lovely view, I appreciate the windows allowing natural light in and the beautiful scenery. The tuna tostada was the best bite for me highly recommend if you like tuna. The porchetta was good but I had a lot of fatty bits in my cut of meat, I would have appreciated more balance. Truffle fries were dangerously delicious.

Very popular place and very hard to get a reservation. So we bit the bullet and took a 9:30 reservation after a full day of skiing. One of the few restaurants in Vail where you have to make a down payment of $25 per person to hold your reservation (some others will charge you if you don't show up). We arrived a little early for our reservation and was seated relatively quickly. Enjoyed the Cesar salad and the pork chop. Nicely presented and the chop well cooked and tasty. My only criticism is that I was supposed to have the down payment credited against my bill and forgot to check. Later when paying my credit card bill, realized I was credited for the $50 paid up front. Disputed the bill with my credit card company and eventually found in my favor. I'll return in 2025 when we go back but will make our reservation earlier.

Visiting from out of town, Sweet Basil was our first dinner. Steven our waiter was incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable on their food menu and gave great recommendations. As an appetizer we got oysters. When we received our entrees we were overly pleased. The flavors in all our dishes were amazing! I ordered the beef and broccoli but upgraded to the sirloin, so delicious & the crispy broccoli was yum! For dessert we had the cherry bomb & the hazelnut option. Presentation was great for both and the taste was even better! With a low dim dinner ambiance, I would highly recommend to visit when in Vail.

Have heard great things about sweet basil and finally stopped by during a recent visit to vail. Highly recommend the goat cheese appetizer!! It was amazing and I can't stop thinking about it. Served inside of a crispy shell that you use for dipping in the goat cheese. Service was great and restaurant is much larger on the inside than the outside leads you to believe. I will definitely be back!

My wife and I decided to spend the afternoon in Vail shopping after a couple of days skiing the mountain. We ended up at Sweet Basil for a late lunch and couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was great with a lot of positive energy and we were seated at a table overlooking Gore Creek which gave us a chance to experience the beauty inside and outside of the restaurant. Our waiter, Milos, was professional, witty and great company as we made our way through the meal. Lunch consisted of Spanish Octopus, Chicken Lyonnaise Salad and Tuna Tostada - one course better than the next. We finished the meal with one of the most delicious and surprising desserts I've ever experienced - the Lemon and Fennel (one you will need to try personally to truly appreciate). Loved it all - would definitely recommend!
