This center is wonderful! The staff is so nice and I appreciate everything they do for my daughter. They teach valuable lessons daily and I feel in touch with whats going on in the classroom and the center because they're great about giving parents updates through their app. I also like the added convenience of being able to pay my child's tuition through their app. And the price is comparable to what other facilities are charging in the area.I did register my child during the COVID pandemic and I feel very comfortable with leaving my child here all day. The facility is nice and spacious. Everything is kept very clean and the staff is always wearing masks. I highly recommend this facility. My child is happy and is always excited to return the next day. And as a parent, it's a great feeling to know that your child is being well cared for by great people.

I absolutely could not be more happy with the Sunshine House, here in Colorado Springs. They have been amazing and taken such good care of my kids. We used to come here 9 years ago with our older kids but then moved away. It was a wonderful experience and we were sad to go. When we moved back into town I was reluctant to put my new youngest kiddo in because she had never been happy in a daycare setting. It took a few weeks for her to walk in peacefully, but was always happy at the end of each the day. Her teachers' patience went a long way toward her new found confidence there. Now she runs in with big smiles and comes home spouting all kind of new knowledge. I've witnessed the Director (Kelly) and Assistant Director (Penny) go above and beyond to make this school a well run and welcoming environment. Every single staff member is wholly committed to the wellbeing and happiness of every kid that walks in the door. They are respectful, professional, and very kind people. I trust them as caretakers and as friends. This is a fantastic daycare/preschool.

While visiting our family, i had the opportunity to drop off and pick up our Grandchild. As a grandmother and a nurse, I am so impressed with the professionalism and caring with all the children. They were so friendly and caring while maintaining high standards of care.

We have been attending the Sunshine House for 1 year and this is our final week. When we started at this facility, we were in love with the teachers our children were placed with. The infant room teachers are phenomenal, Ms. Sharon was amazing with our son, and Ms. Debbie went above and beyond to work with our daughter. We noticed positive behavior changes and the kids were excited to attend. Although they are amazing, I refuse to give The Sunshine House more than 1 star.First strike was when we overheard a teacher tell a parent in the infant room that she was "caught" and could not keep placing the infant, who could not roll over, to sleep on her stomach anymore. This is a huge SIDS risk and the fact that the teacher did not adhere to safe sleep practices was scary. We moved our infant to a new room and the teacher left the facility soon after.Second strike was when our son moved to a new room. He has a strawberry allergy, one that was well known by his previous teachers. However, we walked in on his first week to the teachers offering him strawberry flavored food with bits of strawberries. We were livid. The teachers were clueless and the front desk "misplaced his paperwork" stating he had a strawberry allergy. How ironic, as his previous teachers were well aware of his food allergy. We immediately began touring other daycares and hopped on a waiting list.Third strike was last week on Monday. My son had one bowel movement. ONE. We were then informed that, per their new policy that they did not communicate to the parents, he would have to be out of school for a minimum of 48 hours after the "symptoms" subsided. No fever, playing normally, no cough, no runny nose, nothing. Just one bowel movement. They were informed that my son had extra juice, causing the "loose stool" that they referred to, but they stated that their new policy that they did not inform the parents of was put in place because too many kids were getting sick at their facility. Instead, I missed 3 hours of work, paid a deductible, and had a doctor stare at me when I told them what the management had said. Guess what? Clean bill of health and we were told to inform the daycare that juice causes loose stools. $175 wasted for nothing. On top of it all, we have to talk to our son to convince him to go to school now. He always asks to stay home instead and that he does not like school. We have watched him sulk and scream when being dropped off, a complete 180 from when he was attending in his old classroom.Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of this school. Some of the teachers are great, but there seems to be a new teacher every week. Disorganization seems to be the problem, hence the loss of important medical information between classrooms, LIKE A FOOD ALLERGY. Please do not make the same mistake we did.

I would highly not recommend this facility. My child was continuously sick and did not receive the care she needed. She is at another location and I have noticed a drastic change in her behavior. Her current care giver has been working with her to reassure her that no one is there to hurt her or overwhelm her space. I cannot believe how much she has changed to include her confidence. I am extremely happy that I pulled her from this place. In fact, a couple children that attend her child care now have came from this facility and the parents can relate to the experience my child had. Please research and look at licensure online before enrolling your child, this was the first mistake I made. As parents, if you want your child to have one-on-one care, I recommend a licensed home care facility with a good reputation. I have a premature infant who started here when he was 7 months old. The staff has been (and continues to be) beyond kind, sensitive to both his and my needs, and informative. There is never an issue of communication. My son is always so well cared for and I know the staff cares so much about him by the way I see them interact with him daily. I love all the art work they do even in the infant room! I'm a very hands-on mom and everyone (staff in the room, float staff, and front office staff) has been so understanding and accommodating. Some of the previous reviews mention issues with diapering. I have NEVER experienced an issue. As a matter of fact, my son has BMs multiple times a day and it's never a problem! Some of the previous reviews mention issues with staff. I have never had an issue with anyone at Sunshine house. If I need special accommodations for whatever reasons I am always met with understanding attitudes and assistance. The kindness I receive and the care my son receives from everyone there is overwhelming and I would, hands-down, recommend Sunshine House to you.

My son attended the Sunshine House from age 2 1/2 to 5. He loved every day of it. While I understand the concern over the foods mentioned in the last post (I limit sugar more than the regs require), I pick my battles. Just wait until your kid goes to school and the classroom parties provide oreos and starbursts at 8:00 in the morning! Our main concern when selecting a daycare center was cleanliness and security. I always felt my child was safe and well cared for. And I'd be hard pressed to think of a time that I visited (at any hour of the day) when I didn't see someone cleaning or sanitizing something. We were very impressed with the teachers and administrators. The administrators always greeted us when we walked in the door. We were made to feel like part of a family. I actually cried when I wrote our letter advising them of his last day. I would HIGHLY recommend the Sunshine House for your child. They are fantastic!

If I could give no stars I would . The facility is nice , but the staff is unbearable and they have someone new everyday . So it's hard for children to adjust . If you have an infant DO NOT GO THERE ! They refuse to change stinky diapers and if there's more than one a day expect to get a phone call to pick your child up . I should have listen to the reviews I read before taking my children here. Don't judge this place by the way it looks it's a terrible establishment that cares about the money not the kids . Also the director is probably the worst human you will ever encounter .

I just picked my son up from his last day at the Sunshine House and I am so thankful he will not be going back. As I walked into the door of his classroom today I heard one teacher say to another, "just in time". I picked him up and felt that his diaper was very full. Upon arriving home I discovered he had a very dirty diaper. I am hopeful it hadn't been that way for long. We chose this daycare originally because they were the only place we could find that had a spot available when we were moving on very short notice. The director was very disrespectful in her interactions with me when I requested that my son not be given the high sugar meals that were served. Toddlers should not be given high sugar cereals for breakfast and cookies for snack. She claimed they were only following USDA standards. Some of the staff were very friendly and seemed to treat my son with a great deal of care. We are thankful to have found another childcare provider that takes our child's basic needs into consideration.
