Sugarbush Campground

Just spent the weekend here for the 1st time...it won't be the last. Already picking out more weekends to reserve for the summer. The location is great, love the trees and shade. It is quiet and peaceful. Can't wait for our next visit.

The bathroom was locked when I arrived. There was no indication on the website or in the confirmation email that the bathrooms would be locked or that a code would be emailed on the morning of my arrival or that the campground would be unstaffed on the day I arrived which was Monday. I knocked on the private residence and disturbed the renter, who also did not know the code. My 10pm phone call went straight to voicemail. My text was unanswered. I had to drive to Salida to make the phone call and send the text, since my phone doesn't work in Howard. The response I received to my complaint was an email assuring me the code was provided.

Great camping place or also RV Park. Great trees and very clean grounds. Bathrooms were awesome and floors were clean. I wasn't afraid to use the bathrooms or showers at any time during the day or night! Huge plus in my mind. Super sweet and very accommodating camp ground owners. They will try to make your stay as pleasant as humanly possible. There isn't any river access but it's just a short drive up the road. Fair prices for camping or RV spots. We will be back for sure.
