Edited review to 3 stars: a friend rented a bike from them while visiting and the experience was pretty smooth, the bike size selection leaves some riders having to choose up or down a size, other than that I the experience seemed to go well.

Not only did we show up to get the bikes almost an hour late, but we also returned the bikes way later than promised. Our homie working didn't bat an eye and offered to let us keep the bikes even longer. E bikes for the win

Wow is the best way to describe our experience at Subculture Cyclery! We drove from out of town to pick up a recently built Specialized Epic and were helped by Derek. This was one of the best experiences we've had at any bike shop. Service was impeccable. Much success to this place... they're doing things right.

We had a fantastic time renting mountain bikes from Subculture! We are not experienced mountain bikers and the advice we got was spot on! We had so much fun that we went back the next day to rent bikes again. The folks couldn't have been more helpful! Of course we had to buy some fine merch while we were there. Great logo! We highly recommend Subculture!

Took 2 old bikes for tune ups, one of them was my daily rider. When I picked them up, the bill was OVER 500 DOLLARS! They unnecessarily replaced brake cables, derailleur cables, and all sorts of stuff. Note to company...call someone when you are going to run up the bill to hundreds of dollars! I would have taken them somewhere else and avoid getting ripped off. Don't go here!

I'm a Salida local and I've tried this place twice now for repairs to my mountain bike. The first time was a few years ago when I had an older Santa Cruz bike. They kept trying to up-sell me to a new bike (wasn't in my budget at the time) and when I went out on the trail, my bike wasn't repaired properly and I had to take it back.Now, I tried them again on Saturday. They told me they would get to my bike within two days. I called on Tuesday afternoon and they said they would get to it Wed. Well it's Thursday and still they haven't even looked at it. So I got it and took it elsewhere, but will now miss a weeks worth of riding in the meantime. I'm a busy person. Really just looking for good repairs done right the first time in a reasonable time frame (or even close to the time quoted) and some communication if that's not going to happen. Guess that's too much to ask at Subculture.

Had my specialized turbo levo in there three times and they couldn't fix it, it was set in European mode and would not run over 15mph. $150 later I took it to a real bike shop and the fixed it for nothing just a software change. Don't waist your time here
