At first I liked this place. Hairdresser M did a good job coloring and cutting. I left feeling this was a good place to come to. Second visit was not like the 1st. I left with so much color on my ears,neck,forehead and even my cheek. I was so embarrassed I couldn't even go shop at Target after. When you leave a salon you shouldn't be ashamed to be seen you should feel beautiful. I left feeling like my hair was cut to short and not styled. I felt like Dora the Explorer. After the second visit I thought maybe she was just having an off day. She did mention she was vomiting in between clients. So I gave it another try to see if it was just an off day. I hate having to find a new salon. Well more color on my face and rush job with hearing the F bomb dropped in salon even by manager in casual conversation. Discussing THC wax as with no discretion. I decided I wouldn't go back. I wasnt looking for full blown pampering or I would have found a spa but a nice haircut without leaving with color on my face and feeling as if I were in a trashy salon was the goal. Prices are decent really but I didn't go for the price I went for the service. I did however find a nice salon off of barnes and leave there not ashamed to be seen in public or feel as if I left a bar (behavior)

I absolutely love this salon and have been getting my hair cut and colored by Mindy for the past 4-5 years now. She is awesome and I've always loved my hair everytime!! Everyone at the salon is always friendly and makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. It's also one of the cleanest salons I've ever been in!!

Have been coming here to get my highlights and hair cut since we moved to the Springs 18 months ago and I'm SO thrilled that I found a great place the first time. They always listen to what I want and can duplicate any coloring style I've asked for so far. Not everyone can do that (trust me on that one). I mostly see Felicia but I've also seen the new girl and she did a great job on my hair just before the holidays. A bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for! If you want a cheap color n haircut this probably is not the place for you. But if you want a professional color and cut then this is the place for you! Always able to get appointment without much notice even if they have to squeeze me in they do. Thanks ladies!

I first went to Mindy on the recommendation of a friend because, after at least 3 tries, my former stylist was unable to give me blonde highlights that weren't brassy/reddish. My consult went well because Mindy took the time to really listen to me. She didn't mind if I repeated myself (I was completely insecure and thought maybe my problem was that I didn't communicate what I wanted correctly), and told me exactly how we would get to the end result that I desired.The color correction was PERFECT! I then trusted her enough to let her cut my hair from the middle-of-my-back length to chin length, and I did not regret it at all. Mindy has always been completely straight with me, and I appreciate that about her. She won't say Yes to something if she thinks it's wrong for my hair type; she will instead tell me what she thinks will work, and why - all the while working to give me a look closest to what I want.The salon is new, and has fun decor with amazing original artwork. I'm always offered a drink of some kind, and feel comfortable and like I am important to them. I don't understand why another reviewer was complaining about prices. These prices are quite reasonable, especially for the expertise you get. I have paid more for people working out of their home.Also if you are not happy with ANYthing, Mindy (who is the salon owner) will go to whatever length necessary to make sure it is fixed to your satisfaction. If you leave unhappy, it is because you didn't communicate with her. She wants everyone to love their hair, and to come back!

K is the worst. Her first cut with me was quite bad, as she did not or would not understand my instructions. The second time I had a cut from K she again did not listen to me, became mildly abusive and stopped the cut in the middle of the process because my face showed I was clearly unhappy with what she was doing. She then ripped one of my hairs out of my head and walked away from me. I paid for the services, gave her a 3 dollar tip and left.

I would not recommend this place nor the stylist, Payton. I scheduled for and made it clear that I wanted highlights and lowlights. I was told this would be 90+ and the plus was not explained. Not only did she not listen to what I asked for, she basically threw in highlights...no lowlights...and called it a balayage, charging me $175 at the end of the service and told me that the extra was due to the time it took but took more time bc Payton stopped half way through to do another client's hair on my scheduled time. I find this extremely unprofessional, not to mention her and the other hair dressers were talking about what color of pee and poop they've had. Disgusting. The girl could not stop talking and she was rude. Don't go here if you want to have a relaxing time or if you don't want to be conned out of your money.

I have the worst haircut in the history of hair. Never go to Styles Salon! In my entire life I have never went back to a salon to request they fix my hair, I did today. There was not much they could do, even though they made an attempt. It is so messed up, that it went from a train wreck with causalities to a dumpster fire, that still stinks! I look like I asked someone to hold my beer while I put my head under a weed whacker. Prior to that- I had a one sided mullet and no two hairs the same length- or over 1/8 of an inch long. They did give me a coupon for 1/2 off my next haircut. Like I will ever go back there! The stylist who attempted to fix my hair today- after I had been butchered by an idiot child with scissors the day before- advised me to come in every few weeks so they could trim it into the same length- Yes! I am all but snatched bald in spots. I am unsure if I can leave the house for the next 3 weeks. It's that bad, and it was "fixed" to the best ability of poor man who got tasked with it today. If I do go anywhere it will be to sit outside that awful salon as a cautionary tale. I'm really not a vain person, I don't even wear makeup, but this hair makes me look and feel like a monster. I am going to learn how to write my first internet review- and hit every site I can to warn people. I am seriously disturbed. Over hair! It seems petty- but this cut looks like what they do to prisoners in war camps- I have been dehumanized and am seriously pissed and depressed at the same time.

I made an appointment with Stephanie to "remove about 10% of the gray". She combed the color through all of my hair. As she was doing this I reminded her that I only want a little bit of the gray taken out. She assured me that the coverage would be minimal, and she kept telling me that there was a lot of gray left in my hair and I was over reacting. When she finished, all of the gray was gone. I told her I was not happy. She asked me what she could do to make me happy. I asked that she take the color out. She went through the wash out process, but there was no change in color. The bottom line is that she didn't listen to me and after she made the mistake, didn't fix it. I don't know if this is a habit with her or an isolated incident, but if it can happen to me, it can happen to you. If you are a guy look for a color pearson, she's not a good choice. Buyer Beware!

I've lived in Colorado Springs for almost a year now and hadn't been able to find a good place for a haircut. Then I found Styles Salon and Mindy. She actually listened to me and cut my hair how I wanted. No one else would do that. I definitely recommend her salon and will return.

PRICEY AND NOT WORTH IT. First of all, they charge extra to blow dry your hair. That's ridiculous in my opinion. The first time I was in there, I didn't want to leave with wet hair (cause it was WINTER AND COLD OUTSIDE) so I had to sit under a hair dryer chair forever. My hair could've taken less than 10 min to blow dry, but she charged $25 for that on top of the $30 haircut. Seriously?!? And both times I brought in photos of how I wanted my hair to be, and the end result looked nothing like the pictures. I asked for a little bit of layers and texture, and my hair ended up being so choppy that when it grew out it just looked awful. For my most recent visit I just got the layers trimmed up, and she used a round brush to blow dry my hair. The total ended up being $40. That's way overpriced in my opinion. And once again, it looked nothing like the photos I brought in. I probably won't go here again. My search for a good salon continues...
