Smart Bear Learning

My wife and I have been sending our daughter to Smart Bear Learning for just shy of one year now, so I think at this point we can leave a fair and honest review.My wife and I both work full time, so consequently our daughter had to start attending when she was first eligible, almost right at the 3 month mark. We were both uneasy about this early transition, my wife especially. She was extremely emotional the first day, which of course is normal.We both agree that the next day and each day following was much easier to drop her off, and this was directly related to the staff at Smart Bear. Ms. Sarah and Ms. Amanda really did bond quickly with our daughter and it was apparent how much they do care for all of the kids in their classroom. The two of them are absolutely top notch and we are so thankful to have found them.Our daughter has since graduated from the infant room, and again we were uneasy with the early transition. And again, Ms. Sarah jumped in to make sure we didn't feel that way for more than a day. She is constantly checking on our daughter in her new classroom, commonly holding her when we arrive to pick her up and giving us updates. As a result, our daughter has adjusted well and quickly to the change. She has started walking more, using sign language more, and talking more; since she gets to hang out and compete with the older kids.Everything thus far with Smart Bear has really been an excellent experience. This is coming from someone who can be fairly critical of businesses, as you can confirm by digging through some of my other Yelp reviews. If our impression ever changes then this review will be updated, so, if you are reading this now then you can trust it for what it is.

Our two daughters attend SBLC, one since she was four m/o (she's now 3 y/o) & our youngest who just started this week (5 m/o). We love, love, love SBLC! Top notch care & teaching from their teachers, curriculum, food (it always smells so good!), they have such fun events for the kids & even the entire family! We get to see what our kiddos are up to & learning through the Tadpoles app incl. photos. The teachers & team are always open to discussing any challenges or issues with an open & creative mind. Both of our daughters are so smiley & happy at SBLC, which gives me peace of mind & confidence they are genuinely being cared for. Personally, I love the mommy community at SBLC too! We were so appreciative that they stayed open through 2020, with the upmost care for cleanliness & health. I could go on & on about SBLC, Colleen, Laura & the entire SBLC Team are just wonderful & we're so happy our girls attend this amazing daycare/school!

I can not recommend this place. Toddlers were always crying when I did drop off, never once did I see a toddler smiling or being played with. The staff seemed absolutely exhausted and the front desk was very very disorganized especially when it came to billing. My child was safe while she was there and some of the staff did seem to be really trying so thats why I didn't give a one/two star review.

I currently have a 16 month old at Smart Bear Learning Center and we have been very happy with his care. When we go in the morning we are greated by everyone around and when we leave, his teachers tell me how he did and seem to really enjoy the kiddos around them. For the holidays they put on a Christmas show and gave little gifts to all the families. We have been very happy with our son's care and feel he is safe and happy while we are at work :)

I don't have a child who goes here, I work at the doggy daycare next door. There has been multiple occasions when I'm outside with the dogs and I hear teachers yelling at the kids to come inside. They sound quite rude towards them. (Not using any specific child's name) it sounds like, "Ryan and Lily! Come here NOW!" I understand children are frustrating sometimes, in fact I am studying to become a preschool teacher, but based on the outbursts I've heard, and the tone the teachers take with the kids, Im not sure I would feel very comfortable sending my child there.

Colleen is wonderful, as are all the great women who work here!! They are very patient and kind not only with the kids, but as well as the parents! (LOL!) we have been taking our kids here for 6 months and couldn't be happier. Would recommend!!

I would give this school 0 stars if possible. Very unprofessional and extremely rude administration! I have never met an administrative employee so NASTY! Teachers scream and put kids in time out. Gloves are not always worn when serving food to children. My fully potty trained son was not allowed to use the restroom resulting in an accident. When I asked the teacher why he wasn't allowed to go she said "he had already gone an hour prior". Cathy the cook was the only caring worker. She was always to kind! I wish I didn't waste so much money here.

This is a fantastic center, clean and organized! I took a tour, the staff is friendly and caring. The education program is top of the line! I will be taking my children here!

Smart Bear is amazing!!! I feel so lucky that we found this daycare. My daughter started off in the toddler room and the teachers were/are amazing...she still runs into that room to give her previous teachers hugs She switched to the early learners room since she turned 2 and again I have been so impressed with her new teachers. They do so many hands on activities and art projects. I also love the online daily reports where they tell me what she ate and how much, how she napped, when she went potty, and they can also send photos and video of my child playing and enjoying "school". The entire staff knows my daughter and has a special bond and relationship with her. All of this makes going to work easier each day since I know she is well taken care of. Everyone LOVES my child and she is happy to go each and everyday. You can tell the owner Colleen loves her daycare. The asst. director Tiffany is wonderful. Tiffany takes time each and everyday to say goodbye, give hugs, or just have a conversation with our child. Again I feel so lucky we found Smart Bear!
