Scratch Taqueria

Stopped by this morning to get breakfast tacos before fishing. Amazing tacos. We had the Ace, Trigger, and the Buckeye on flour tortillas. All were delicious and really hit the spot before spending the day outdoors. The service was friendly and prompt. *they may have a new vendor for their flour tortillas. In contrast to some of the other reviews, we thought the tortillas were excellent.

Good and fun, worth the stop. The ladies that run the truck are awesome and friendly. They make a mean street taco. This was a welcome alternative from the restaurants on main street. We came with another family and there was something for everyone.

One of the best street tacos we've ever had! Reasonably priced, quick & friendly service! The 18 Hour Smoked Brisket is outstanding.

Holy smokes folks! We had ordered 3-4 different dishes and all but one ended up in the garbage because it was so dry. It needs some seasonings and better tortillas since the current ones are fall apart type of dry.

Scratch Taqueria offers everything on the menu as either a salad, taco or burrito. I ordered The Angler and some chips and queso. The Angler is a fish taco and comes with a mango salsa/pico de gallo and it was delicious! If I'm ever back in Buena Vista I would definitely stop by Scratch Taqueria again.

I'm typically not a fan of food trucks. That is my bias. But the brisket here stands out. So much so this is my second consecutive day here. I had the #23 yesterday and La Bamba today. The smoke on the brisket was strong enough to stand up to the fruitiness of the mango salsa. I enjoyed the two flavors but liked the complementary taste of the chiles and brisket on the #23 more. I recommend both though. It's just matter of what you're in the mood for.

We stopped here for lunch after a morning hike. It was tasty! My husband had the #23 and said the brisket was flavorful and the flavors in the taco were well balanced. I had the El Guapo and it was also very good - the cilantro and pineapple were delish. Located next to a park so easy to enjoy as a picnic. Service was great too! We'll for sure be back. As far as good trucks go, one of the best we've eaten at.

We stopped by July 27 on a road trip through the area and we just needed food to go so we didn't have high expectations. The person at the window was polite and friendly, but those were THE worst tacos that either of us has ever had. We couldn't even finish them... My gal took two bites and tossed hers (we literally had to stop somewhere else for food).We got the #23 and the Mary B. The brisket was full of fat. The "seasoned" ground beef was bland. The flavors didn't work together at all. The ingredients tasted cheap. The tortillas were cold. Beans and liquid queso in a taco is odd, but acceptable as a filler considering the taco's size. They seem to be going for some sort of a Mexican fusion and their menu reads as though it might deliver. Sadly, the end product is an unholy bastardization of Mexican and bland American fast-food cuisines. Yes, it sounds harsh, but a taco truck with low overhead should easily be turning out better food. I feel like these guys are doing nothing more than making a quick buck from folks they'll never be serving again who are traveling through. I was insulted and it takes a lot for me to throw food away.As previously mentioned, the tacos are fairly large so they would be priced reasonably (~$5.00 ea) if the ingredients and flavors were better. Unless they make some real changes, keep on driving...

Delicious taco truck!!! Lots of meat and topping choices. Very fresh and tasty. Friendly staff! We will return soon. Don't miss this is place if you are passing thru Buena Vista! Right by the Shell station, and then you can eat at the lovely shaded park! We highly recommend!!

Refreshing to see other options for good food in BV. Fresh tacos with a gourmet twist, Don't wait! They're last day is September 6th before the winter season!
