We live 40 miles from this property but wanted to come here to view the 4th of July fireworks. Even though we were on the second floor, the balcony view worked out fine. The mattress was fantastic. We had a great night's sleep. The heating and A/C is centralized, but there is an output fan in the room that you can adjust. We turned it off, but the air bleed was just enough to keep the room at a good temperature. The oversized outdoor pool was immaculately clean and obviously heated. The bathroom was small, the towels rough, and the shower needed grab bars.Since this is a 12 story building with residence on the upper floor the hotel has three top notch Otis elevators. The property is very tastefully landscaped and nearly like a park.Pop for the upgraded room so you face West for the mountain view and avoid the East side noise from Academy Blvd. For a 50 year old building it is obvious that money is being spent on it.The staff is great. This is a great value and a surprisingly good experience. They have 24 hour security which is important since Colorado leads the country in auto thefts.

My family and I stayed from June 18-19 and had the WORST stay. The room looked nothing like the pictures in the site. It looked like someone actual home that they allowed us to stay for the night and I don't mean this in a good way. The AC was broken and never got below 80 the entire stay. I told the front desk and was told that they were having AC issues but was not told that when checking in. The balcony door wouldn't lock and we had our 2 children with us and the youngest was 2 and could open the door. The room also smelt like straight cigarettes and was supposed to be a nonsmoking room. I expressed my concerns and troubles when checking out and was just told "I'm sorry"For paying $240 a night, this was ridiculous and the worse experience I've ever had!

Felt like I was walking back in time. Everything looks and smells old. Nothing is up to date. Our bathroom vent was so dusty and dirty. The towels were not clean. We were scared to shower. We had bugs flying around the room. The lock on the inside of our room did not lock. Would definitely not recommend or ever come back. Looks nothing like it does online. I almost slept in my car instead but was scared I would get robbed or something. Definitely did not feel safe here.

Retro 60s. Some things here haven't actually changed since the 60s. Like the carpet. Upon entry, where we were welcomed like royalty and their stated goal is to get you checked in and/or out in 5 minutes or less, we made it up to our floor. I'm going to call the smell "unique" since that particular fragrance hasn't graced my nasal cavities since some old barracks I stayed in while I was in the Marine Corps. This place has a wonderful pool! Awesome time there. This place is mostly inhabited by permanent residents and some businesses on the first floor. A barber shop, massage parlor and a few other businesses which I found pretty unique for a hotel. The ice machine always worked, $1/load for the washer and dryer each. They were clean and functional. The elevators (3) were actually very quick considering Mr. Otis was probably still alive when they were installed. The residents were friendly and welcoming as well as informative. The employees even more so. Though you could probably skip the "restaurant" and be just as well off, though Chantel made our one breakfast there very good, all things considered. She kept my coffee cup full. Met a Marine wife, Tasha who was the maid for our floor and had a nice conversation with her as well. The bed was a queen, would've preferred a king, but even being smallish, it was very comfortable. The A/C took a little time to figure out. Some things have changed since the 60s, even some of the functional controls had too!We always had hot water instantly and the rooms were as clean as could be. Lots of towels provided. I'd say this is probably its own happy little ecosystem, though some may be too snooty to even give it a chance. The bedding was clean and enough. There were lots of pillows. Some of the outlets and switched befuddled us and the only maintenance problem we reported, a faulty electrical outlet was repaired the same day. All in all we had a good time here, a lot better time than I'd initially thought based on first appearances. But we did arrive after 1AM. It had been a long day. If you get the chance you might want to give this old lady a go. It's not nearly as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be, but I can't justify 4 or 5 stars either. Onward and upward.

Probably 3.5 stars, but I can't give that and I am feeling generous today.A bit out of the way, and looks like something out of a 60s movie. It appears to be a condo building where a large(?) percentage of the residents rent out their rooms to the hotel agency. Many residents live here year round.Clearly everything inside is dated, but I had a pleasant stay here. I would not be surprised if the quality varied greatly from room to room. The VERY COLD air made up for some of the dated décor. The free water was greatly appreciated after a long dehydrating day! Free parking!Slightly disappointed that they do not allow dogs since there were so many residents with dogs in the building, but that is fine since it was clearly posted when I made my reservation and I did not have one with me this trip. The free breakfast was surprisingly good, but it took almost an hour to get after ordering and I had to wait 15-20 minutes before ordering. Their was only one person to take the order and cook the food. If I had known it was going to take that long I would have just gone to McDonalds across the street.

This is NOT A HOTEL. A hotel expects and welcomes guests. People live here full time and most residents are elderly. That is not the biggest issue. There is no real Covid precautions being taken. Elderly people and the restroom was dirty, the counters were dirty and never once did I see anyone cleaning the elevator buttons or doorknobs. Finally we booked on hotels.com so once we checked in and saw the condition on the room, we contacted hotels.com they said they could not cancel our second night. 1106 am next day phone rings from the rudest little girl saying we were supposed to check out, mind you I already paid for two days and spent over a hour cleaning this room with my own supplies. This little brat then tells me she does not care about my confirmation or reservation. I ask for a manager. The manager who was likely the most unprofessional person I ever spoke called a couple minutes later and was ever more conformational than the incompetent child running the front desk. She was very rude and when I raised my voice and told her she was absolutely not going to talk to me like that she said to get my sh*t out and hung up. Of course when I went down to the front desk there was conveniently a shift change and the manager who had so much guts to talk to me in such a disrespectful and prejudice way was gone for the day. If I cursed and acted like a psycho rather than a professional at my place of business I guess I would be a coward and hide too. I reporting them to the Heath department, better business bureau and warning all of you. This is the worst experience I've ever had and I can't believe that anyone in any business would behave this way. Don't go here, they are not a hotel. But the gentleman from Massachusetts was very friendly and I feel very sorry he works there and is being put at risk by the lack of cleaning and has to work with such unprofessional nasty ladies. I would never treat customers like this where I'm from or I wouldn't have a job. Stay away from this dirty super spreader hotel

I chose this hotel because of a few reviews that made it look good. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but. Check-in was at 3, and our room hadn't been cleaned: there was underwear in the bathroom, hair on the wall of the shower, beds still with dirty sheets. The housekeeper cleaned the room by 3:30, but she missed the hair. Also, we'd called ahead and asked for a roll away bed. No one seemed to know if there was one, but the customer service woman we spoke with kindly checked and said that yes, the hotel had one. Only one. So she wrote into the notes to put it into our room. When we arrived, I asked the person who was working the desk about it. She checked with housekeeping, and they had put it into a different room. So we asked for extra blankets and pillows with which to make a pallet on the floor for our two young grandsons. Only one blanket was brought to our room. Sooo, when we returned to our room from the event we attended, I went to the desk and asked for more. New woman at the desk was rude and pretty snarky when I explained about the roll-away--she insisted that "We do not have roll-aways." I explained that I'd discussed it with someone else and heard the person on the radio confirm about where it was. She still insisted that no, she had worked there 8 months (wow!) and there were none. The room was ok (once cleaned), but only one mirror in the bathroom. No smoking policy, but the smell of marijuana was very evident on our floor. We will not stay here again.

By far the most disorganized "hotel" I've ever stayed at. I payed in advance for 2 nights. When I arrived my room was not ready so I waited about 30 minutes was sent up to a room that was still not ready. I went down to get another key to a room that was ready. I gave the clerk my c.c. for insidentals/ deposit and she charged it for one night. So the next morning the new clerk called and RUDELY informed me I needed to come pay for another night if I was staying. I finally got the manager involved and got my money refunded for the 2nd time I paid for the first night, but ruined a huge chunk of our day, trying to get this straightened out instead of enjoying the town.

Hotel is in a sketchy area. People partying and fighting almost every night until 4:30 am. Came off 5th floor elevator to a bloodied man punching and pushing those around him. Was warned by one of his group to not go down hall to my room because of the fight. Called front desk and told them to call police, their response was 'oh I know who that is, I will check it out in a bit." I was scared to leave my room many nights after hearing and seeing the fighting and yelling. Manager told me she would refund my stay based on another review but only refunded one of the nights we stayed. We originally booked through booking.com and then extended stay by 2 days at desk, not knowing sleep would be hard to come by here. checked out a day early. Booked because it was cheap and reviews said it was clean. This would be a nice place with better clientele and updating,

very clean, staff members were nice and accommodating, and parking was free. bed was kind of uncomfortable and decor was outdated but that didn't really bother us. pool was obviously heated and well maintained and they offered breakfast in the morning. all in all, a nice little hotel !
