I'm not really sure why this restaurant has a decent amount of negative reviews, but as someone who was born in Indonesia and had a lot of exposure to good food (previously lived in California), every dish I've tried here is TASTY. Oh, and please... PLEASE don't compare this restaurant with Bayanihan cafe. That restaurant was AWFUL. The dishes they serve were NOT authentic in the slightest and the owner made tons of excuses when I reached out to her. Major props to the owners of Sarap - they take feedback to heart and strive to do better. To those who compare Sarap to Julie's Kitchen... are you kidding me? I agree that Julie's Kitchen is very generous with their portions, but their lechon kawali was so overcooked and tough to chew. Pancit was so dry and bland.Sarap's lechon kawali and pancit are miles better!

No stars as the place is a rip-off. (I was forced to have one to post.) I did not want to do this because I am Filipino and preferred to support a "kabayan." However, I am more inclined to save others from going through what my family and I went through. Plus, the food here is NOT what Filipino food tastes like. The portions are diminutive and they used rice to "prop up" the entree. We ordered 5 different entrees and boy - was that a huge misstep I really truly do not see how this place will remain open for long. One trip is all it will take to know you should NEVER waste your money this way again.Daryl (owner) responded to the post I sent earlier today, 01/10/25. In the interest of full transparency, I ordered online last Fri, 01/03/25 and picked it up at around 4:15-ish pm (or sometime around then). I ordered a 4-pc lumpia (one review here stated "lumpia seemed weak and not fried enough" and I completely agree. Each order had one lumpia as well.); chicken bbq (dry and bordering tasteless); pork bbq (tasted more like adobo - and not a good version), kare-kare (gosh, the mini cubes of beef are nowhere near what kare-kare should look or taste like); bistek (propped up on rice to make the bigger portion of the container look full; almost tasteless); and pork sisig (I am a very fair person and will state this order was acceptable. It was the most palatable order out of the 5 entrees). These are more detailed descriptions of the entree orders I wanted to spare the readers of knowing about. But since you asked for it Daryl, I laid it out here.

My family and I just recently tried the sisig and the Kare Kare, it was delicious. We loved the ube yema cupcakes. Keep up the good work. The only feedback that I would give is on the Biko- the malagkit rice was a little bit tough but everything else was great. Anna

I'm local and lived here in Springs way before the great Blizzard of '97. When the other Filipino restaurant opened in 2016 and was replaced by another, it was a sad day for many people. Unfortunately the second restaurant that opened in the same place before Sarap restaurant came, wasn't up to par... at all. When I saw the sign for Sarap I had high hopes. We stopped by and saw that the menu was amazing and looked delicious. I ordered Sisig with beef lumpia and extra rice. My husband ordered lechon kawali with ensaladang pipino, a side order of atchara and curry empanadas.First impression, the presentation was already not great, the container they put in the food is a bento-like box, the rice was all over the side and on the cover as well. They put the lumpia on top of the rice so when I opened the container the lumpia was smashed on the rice and when I lift it up to eat it the lumpia the rice was stuck all over it; they did the same thing with my husband's order with the cucumber salad drenched right next to his lechon, no biggie.Although there's a lot of different ways in making Sisig in the Philippines there is one universal ingredient when making this; crispy pork belly and its citrus. Though I understand that they also cater for the mass, there is something to be said when making this specific recipe. The pork was cooked well, however, it was super oily that the I couldn't taste the flavor, I am not exaggerating when I say dripping oil; I did asked for spicy and the food wasn't close to have any heat at all. To top it off there was no citrus flavor either. They did include a small wedge of lime, which I used but unfortunately it wasn't enough. They have spiced vinegar available and so that's what I used to spice it up and had the citrus-y I was looking for (although vinegar is not ideal it was the only thing I can use to not throw away my food). Sisig is one of the many Filipino food that is rich in flavor. Unfortunately for this one, that's not the case. The beef lumpia that came with it was bland, I think they forgot to put salt in it. I ordered a side of Atchara, now that was delicious. My husband ordered lechon kawali; now, you can't really mess this one up because it's a deep fried pork belly, my only complaint on this one was again, bland, no salt. The ensaladang pipino (cucumber salad) was soggy (cucumber wasn't bright green anymore). Now, the biggest disappointment was the curry empanadas, it had a curry flavor but once again it was very bland, I'm not sure if they don't like to use salt at all. The place is clean and they were playing tagalog music in the background. However the staff that took our order and the cook was cold; neither of them was smiling at all. We came in during Sunday lunch hour, the place wasn't busy. Although we only had water to drink I noticed that in their fountain drink area they have quite a few choices of drinks. I was glad to see coconut water in one of the fountain machines. We love our local businesses and continued to support them. I hope that Sarap restaurant will take this review as a constructive feedback. 2 Stars.

My husband and I ordered Kare-kare with lumpia. We were disappointed with the food, although the serving portions were good enough. The meat( beef stew) of the kare-kare was hard, making it hard to chew. The authentic filipino kare-kare has a soft meat and not filled with actual peanuts . The cook filled our kare-kare with big peanuts pieces. The lumpia seemed weak and not fried enough. I think the frozen lumpia that are being sold in an asian store taste much better. We also ordered the ube cheesecake which is good enough but kinda watery and not that firm. I'm not sure if I will go back to this place soon but i hope they will improve the food and make it taste authentic in the future. Despite of the unsatisfactory review of the food, the restaurant is clean and enjoyed the music being played inside.

Excitedly tried this restaurant on Friday night. I got the chicken adobo. Flavor was really good. Meat portion was outrageously small. Not full breast, thighs, legs or wings of chicken, none, big nor small. The chicken was cut up and barely any there at all. So disappointing.
