This is more of a review of the awesome event. Douglas County PrideFest was held here. As the parent of an LGBTQIA child and an ally I'm always concerned about the safety of the community. Last year's event was interrupted by intolerant protesters. Not this year! Parker PD was at the field in full force with snipers and rovers on foot and in vehicles. Thank you to Parker PD. The various booths were informative and fun. My only complaint for the whole event was the amount of grasshoppers and occasional pile of horse poo that you'd come across. But it is an equestrian park so I expected the poo. As for the grasshoppers, they ended up on and in everything. A day later and I was still finding them in my car.

Stopped by to use their tidy picnic area and enjoyed watching the horses exercise. A great family spot with a playground and clean facilities.

Looking for a great place for a family picnic or gathering, then this is the place. Plenty of parking, lots of room for spike ball or corn hole or catch with a baseball, football or softball. Swings and slides for the young or young at heart!

Another of Parker's wonderful sports complexes. I was there this last weekend for the start of a 5k race and was very impressed with the size and cleanliness of the park. There are several baseball fields and a big equestrian area. Since I'm not much of an equestrian person and it wasn't baseball season, I'll quote a little bit off of the park's website:Located along Motsenbocker Road just north of the Town's Public Works Department, this park serves Parker's equestrian community, as well as a variety of youth and adult sports leagues. Thirty acres of the park are undeveloped open space. Youth baseball fields sponsored by the Colorado Rockies are located on the north side of this park. Salisbury's playground encourages creative play, with a non-traditional modern design that appeals to big and little kids alike. The equestrian facility at Salisbury Park was recently completed as the result of a cooperative effort between the Town of Parker, several local equestrian groups, Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and surrounding residents. The park includes a new lighted equestrian arena with bleacher seating for approximately 80 people, warm up arena, renovated dressage arena and a new two-story equestrian building, which includes an office / ticket area, restrooms and a judges' / scorers' observation room. Additional improvements to the site include better vehicular access to the park, additional equestrian parking areas and picnic area, plus a multi-use equestrian field. The 5k race was wonderfully organized with very easy to follow directions and there was a great pancake breakfast after the race. The trail was nice and flat, mostly along the Cherry Creek Trail on a nice 10' wide concrete trail. The only downside was we had to tromp through the mud for 1/4 of a mile or so to get to the trail from the park and back again. I hope they will eventually pave this section of the trail.
