Salida Museum Association

Great museum about Salida and Colorado history! The man at the front is spectacular and makes this place a jewel!

For any of you who always like to check out the local museums this is a must see.Not only did it have all the local history but so much more.My husband and I have been in many small town museums and I must say this was not even close to them. It felt like a mini version of a large historical museum. So much stuff to see and the gentleman at the front counter answered our questions about some of the oddities we found looking around. He also had an in-depth knowledge of Salida history.Many wonderful Indian artifacts also. Things from prehistoric to mid-century.We only had about hour and half to look and had another obligation. I am sure we could have spent much more time there exploring things. If we had not had to leave the next day we sure would have went back.Also most everything is very well displayed and labeled.A diamond find for sure. A small admittance fee and worth every penny.
