This place exceeded my expectations. We stayed upstairs where the room was very clean, cozy and warm. The bed was so comfy and the sheets were nice. We loved the little heater furnace. The innkeeper was a total gem. Incredible location, affordable and so worth every penny. We'd happily stay again and again and couldn't be more happier.

Great little gem just a few minutes from downtown. We were greeted warmly and were only one of a couple guests at the time. Very clean, quiet and comfy. We stayed upstairs where it was cozy and peaceful. The bed was superb! Highly recommend

One word. Wonderful.OK, I can't sum up the experience in just one word. The place is beyond cozy. We didn't know what to expect...the last time I stayed in a hostel was in Canada when I was sixteen. Well, I'm all grown up now, and we were looking for a hotel in the area to accommodate us for a three day visit. When we arrived we were greeted by the innkeeper who checked us in immediately and recommended venues for dinner (and she was right, check out my revue for Amica's on here). The room was CLEAN, fresh carpet felt good under the toes. Usually I don't go barefoot in hotel rooms due to the the icko factor, but I couldn't resist. It felt...nice. I wasn't hesitant at all. The bed was comfortable, hell, IS comfortable as I'm lying in it right now as I write this review. It's quiet, and the rain is falling outside. There's no TV (oh darn) but they have solid WiFi. The downstairs has a community room complete with wood burning stove, and a beautiful clean kitchen with a gas range for all to use. When I went down to get the nectar of the God's style coffee, I was greeted by some kids that were on a cross Colorado trip. It was refreshing to see two young folks doing, wait for it, a crossword puzzle! All in all it was a divine experience. The bunk room downstairs was totally separate from the rest of the area, other guests were friendly, all experiencing the same warmth and kindness that we did.Great job Salida Hostel!Ken Hutchison720-425-2407

This is the place to stay in Salida! They were so warm and helpful. Our car broke down and they even gave us a jump! Couldn't have asked for a better stay with the unfortunate circumstances. Would definitely stay again!! Rooms are clean, warm, big enough and staff is very kind. WiFi works which is a huge plus. Parking is super easy and town is only like a 10 minute walk.

Super cozy, clean, comfortable, and managed by incredibly friendly staff - you get a *lot* for what you pay for here. My friend and I shared one of the private rooms with a king bed. It had its own little electric fireplace that we could control the heat from ourselves. Everything in the room was clean, the bed was very comfy, and the bathroom area clean. On the first floor is an adorable community kitchen with all the cooking supplies you'd need if you'd like to cook at "home." You're also given space within the refrigerator and the decor in the kitchen was clearly well thought out and beautifully aligned with the overall look and feel of the interior of the whole house. On top of that we had the pleasure of meeting Andrew (I believe that's his name - a young bearded fellow who was friendlier than ever). He and his wife live on and manage the property. Andrew was extremely helpful, courteous, and kind. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience (and an affordable one at that!) while making a very last minute reservation and overnight stay in Salida, CO.

We just stayed at this hostel the second time on Memorial Day weekend and it was even better than we remembered! This is a super clean, tastefully decorated and cozy house that you can feel at home! They took out a bunk bed from the bunk room, which made it more spacious and comfortable. There's plenty of clean towels for guests to use. The bedding is soft and very clean as well! Way to keep up with the German level of cleanliness as the staff calls it! It's pretty quite here at night and a simple yet satisfying breakfast is waiting for you in the morning. Well done and keep up the good work! Highly recommend this hostel when staying in Salida!

Charming, quiet, and impeccably clean. Setup in an older house just north of town, this little oasis is a wonderful stop. We opted for the private room with a comfortable firm mattress, cute tiled shower, and even a gas stove. Very much worth the modest price.

Comfortable bed, surprisingly good coffee in the morning, easy walk to town along the river. Seems to have four private rooms upstairs and a bunk downstairs. I was there on a Wednesday night, wasn't too crowded, barely saw anyone until morning for coffee. I would stay again.

Awesome hostel that takes care of us hikers and bikers coming through town. Clean place, comfortable beds, laundry and coffee. If I ever return to Salida this is where I will stay.
