I've purchased books here many times. Unfortunately I had a HORRIBLE experience there today. I tried to buy some books for a homeless man. They wanted him to leave so I told him to go and he did. Then I picked out $350 worth of books and paid for them with my Bank of America card. I left the books there Bc the owner was too busy to call down the street for my ride. After I left she called the cops and decided my purchases must have been fraudulent. The cops called me and I explained my side of things. Apparently I'm no longer welcome there despite the fact I did nothing wrong. 1. I still want to buy the books (they refunded my account.)2. I want to attend a book signing on the 8th.It's a good store with an amazing selection. Apparently the owner just desperately needs a refill for her can of act right.She CAN make things right by selling me the books. An apology would be nice as well but not required. I'm an only child who just buried both my parents so I understand people go through things that cause them to act in hurtful ways.As a potential shopper, consider yourself ed

Cute little book store - didn't have much of my genre personally (fiction) but had a wonderful variety of history, traveling & non-fiction!

This store is awesome. I stopped in to pick up a book for my son when we were staying nearby. He had just finished the book we brought with us and I needed something to keep his attention. We ended up finding a great new book series that he loves! They have a nice little play area for kids, and a great selection of kids and adult books. The staff was friendly. Great place.

Independent bookstores and booksellers are the best. This is a beautiful, peaceful space with carefully curated displays answering the needs of a diverse audience here in Salida. Someone has worked hard to produce such a great variety for the audience. Just delightful!

Awesome book store! The owner was super knowledgeable and dropped everything to help us out. Great collection of books and neat pieces of history. A must-stop in Salida!

The Book Haven, managed by Lisa Marvel, is just amazingly wonderful. It's not a huge space, but the book selection is impressive and, obviously, carefully chosen. Add to that the fact that Lisa is devoted to this community...... she hosts house musical concerts, poetry readings, and other events that enrich our lives. This is a business that is about more than 'just business' and it deserves support from all of us.
