Sabor Mazatlan

Was passing through on my way to California and due to the weather we had to stay. Did a quick check through Yelp to find something and this popped up. We got there and the place was empty. Usually never a good sign but it was like an hour til closing. We ordered chips with salsa, aguachiles verde, tacos de carnitas (4 to an order) and steak tampiquena. Everything was tasty. We also ordered a beer, two shots of herradura tequila and a coke. Prices weren't bad. I've had these dishes before and I can make a couple of the things I ordered. The Steak tampiquena I e had at a few restaurants in NY and were much better. And came in a red sauce. This one was a super thin steak that came with a chicken mole flauta and they spread that salsa over everything. Not a fan.

Most of the casual Mexican restaurants in the area are just OK, the same ingredients combined in slightly different ways. A few of them are truly authentic. Sabor Mazatlan is in between. In a really good way. The seafood options are definitely the stars of the menu. I found the margaritas to be better than average. We had excellent service. We tried a ceviche style shrimp dish that was fresh and delicious, perhaps a bit on the spicy side for some. The octopus which was cooked perfectly! And a chili just so we could compare to other restaurants. I'd have no problem repeating our selections or recommending them to anyone. We are looking forward to trying some of the other dishes on the menu.

Best meal we had in Keystone area. Carnitas tacos, Baja tacos, carne asada tacos and chicken fajitas all excellent. Also the salsa and homemade hot sauces are delicious. Service was great. Worth the $ and short drive from resort area.

Food Amazing!! The Mezcalitas were just perfect to warm us up ! Bien ricoo!! We had the carnitas burrito, and the Trio as an appetizer!

I was searching for an authentic Mexican restaurant and boy did we find the best one around here! Great atmosphere. Their drinks were AMAZING! I'm very particular about margaritas and these guys nailed it. Pricing fits what you are getting (not over or under priced). Their food was all homemade, came out fast, and was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.

We made our most recent pilgrimage and were disappointed. The interior has been renovated (which looks great) but they also redid their menu (which is not so great). The new menu has many fewer items (probably 50-60% of the old one) and the quality of the food was noticeably lower than 6 months ago. They now charge for chips and salsa, and the chips we ordered were stale (and much more "store bought" than previously). The cost of many menu items has also gone up considerably which is understandable but we were disappointed the quality went down. Additionally, portions have gone down as well (2 enchiladas instead of 3). We are disappointed our favorite Mexican restaurant in Dillon is no longer. It's not terrible but it's just not great.

Ate at the bar the other day and had the BEST seafood enchiladas and mezcal margarita!! The bartender was super helpful when I asked him what to eat and drink. Great service and amazing food!!

EAT HERE! As a local, there are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Summit County. This place is my favorite. The seafood enchiladas are soooo good. (Landlocked seafood, I know. But still good) The servers are always friendly and I've never had a bad meal here. It's always a little more mellow than other restaurants if you're ever looking for a place on the busy nights as well. Highly recommend this place!

This place has really good food. It's too bad that their margaritas are weak and their guacamole is mushy. If they fix these two things, they'd have all the locals all of the time. And I'd bring everyone I know there!
