We were here to see the gorge and also found the heat. The camp is very clean and well maintained. Lots of flowers. Lots of adult activity chances but was just too HOT! Our first camp site had no shade and they let us pick a new site. Got #19 with a tree to the east and west. Perfect site. From the camp you can see the gorge bridge but it really pops out in the evening. Went in to Cañon City a few times, went to the gorge, and took a beautiful drive up to Cripple Creek to find some coolness. So Royal View was a great place to be based. Will stay again if in the area. Caretaker very nice and accommodating. Good laundry too.

This campground is very well maintained. They have a great pool, shuffleboard, mini golf and a pickleball court. They also have a cut agility course for dogs. The views are beautiful and people are friendly. The spaces are very big and well spaced. We had a great time! We will definately be back. Just a note: this is an adult only park so kids are not allowed.

Rv time at Royal View RV Park. So clean so quiet big pull through sites some are 50 Amp executive. Decent wifi the owner and staff really keep the place beautiful and well kept. And love flowers! Noteworthy. They transitioned to adult / no children. So if you wanting peace and quiet this my be just the park for you. The pool area is great for lounging and relaxing and a quick dip. Call ahead on the pool status if that's important. If your frustrated and can't find a spot . Give this place a try, or another try . We'll be back again soon!

Gosh, the facility is clean but when you aren't greeted with a smile or "welcome" ( by the staff/owner)and you feel as though you're imposing on their break time ....I was ready to pull out and find another RV park but have already paid for a week....which they said there is no refund if we wanted to leave a day or two early. Oh well, we'll make the best of it but I would suggest a smile goes a long way!!

I absolutely loved this park, I stayed for a month. Todd takes great care of this park and the pride in ownership is definitely noticeable. The spots are spacious, two dog parks, friendly residents and TONS of trails nearby. As a full time solo traveling female, I highly recommend this park. I felt very safe and welcomed. I told Todd I wouldn't let the secret out, but he's a very nice guy. PRO TIP: Read his rules, understand them and don't ask stupid questions and you'll get along very well. (There are some new rules due to COVID, which I appreciated - no kids/50% occupancy/2 people per site) Thanks Todd - I'll be back!

Called to make a reservation and spoke with a woman who did not come across being very pleasant to start with and it went downhill from there. We wanted 2 nights and with an attitude mentioning she will not make us a reservation unless we stay 3 nights. Told her we had to be in another city by the 3rd night. No exceptions and considering it is off season here, you .would think they could bend. We travel a lot and never have we had to make a 3 night reservation unless if it is on a holiday weekend, that I understand. We happen to speak to some people that were staying there and was told the husband wasn't any nicer, best not break one of their many rules or your OUT!! (Read their policies on their website!). There are many RV parks to pick from other than this one, and much nicer people!!!

Had a great stay. Loved everything about the park except the road in and out was too narrow for a large motorhome with tow vehicle. The center barriers need to be removed. Loved the gorgeous views and walking trails up to the scentic lookout.

We came back twice during 2020, three weeks in June/July and for a month in September. We still love this campground. During COVID-19, the facilities were all closed except for the laundry room. Campers had to make appts to use it but never found an issue when we needed to do our laundry. There were some extra restrictions due to COVID-19 such as RV's limited to 2 persons per rig, no children, and no outside company allowed. While I am sure these restrictions kept some folks away, for us it was great! The campground was super quiet and sites occupied were not right next to each other. As far as the reviews of unfriendly staff, we have found that most rules are in place to prevent unpleasant situations for all campers. If you choose not to follow the rules, then this campground is not for you; the staff is fairly strict on rules. Have not encountered rudeness but I tend to follow rules!

My wife and I were passing through Canon City and needed to dump our tanks in our trailer. Being a Good Sam Member and this being a Good Sam campground, I thought I would stop and ask. I pulled in front of the office and a gentleman pulled up behind me in a golf cart. I identified myself as a GS member and asked if I could dump my tanks. I offered to pay whatever they would charge. Very abruptly and rudely, he said, "You have to pay to do that" and walked off. I offered to pay again and repeated that I was a GS member, he ignored me, said nothing, and went about his business. I understand that some RV parks do not allow dumping if not at a campsite. It would have been much better if I was told something like, "sorry, you have to be a registered camper to use our facilities", or some other explanation. There is absolutely no excuse for rudeness. If this gentleman is an example of the attitude of the owner or employees, I would definitely not stay here. Nice campground though.
