This is such a wonderful shop filled with everything you need to enjoy a day on the water. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and more than happy to provide insight and recommendations.

What a day! The RGA tram was great from start to finish. From the initial call to schedule our outing until after the trip was over, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had the absolute best time learning the ropes from Paul. This was our first time fly fishing and he was patient and did such an amazing job educating us on the sport. He called us ahead of time to help make sure we were prepared and he even checked in with us post trip sharing some pictures and information on other activities in the area. We had an amazing time and we even caught a few trout on our first trip out. So much fun and we can't wait to do it again soon!!

I've come here a few times since I work in Canon. I really like talking to Bob, guy is super friendly and helpful. Broke the tip off my fly line and he gave me advice to use some sealant. He nail knotted a perfection loop of amnesia to my line for free.

We had a great time, Evan is very knowledgeable taught me my preteen sons a ton and was very patient. We were getting skunked for a few hours but ended up rallying and catching some fish. The scenery and the education alone were well worth it.

My husband and I on a whim decided to take our 17 year old son on a Fly Fishing trip to Colorado. We researched as much as we could prior to leaving but with such little time to learn a whole different way of Fly Fishing, we needed additional help. We took off only knowing the rivers we wanted to fish, and not much else. As soon as we made it to Canon City, our first stop was Royal Gorge Anglers. I had previously been on their website which was extremely helpful, so that's where we began that part of our trip. We hadn't made reservations for a guide since we ultimately didn't know where or when we would land in Canon City. As we walked through the doors, we were welcomed by Bill Edrington who took a lot of time talking to us, getting us the right gear, and most importantly giving us tips and educating us on where to fish, when to fish, and what to use. I have been in many fly shops including the ones in Colorado for this trip and not all shops who offer guides are willing to help, but that certainly wasn't the case with Bill. He was more than happy to help and was more concerned about us having a good and successful time than anything. We just got home yesterday, but are already planning our next trip to Canyon City to fish on the Arkansas River. Royal Gorge Anglers will again be one of our first stops. The short time we spent in the shop gave us insight to the knowledge everyone held. We went back several times throughout our trip, and had the pleasure of not only talking with Bill, but with Larry as well, who was just as kind and helpful. Knowing the knowledge these gentlemen have, we will certainly be making reservations for one of them to be our guide next time around. (Something we didn't do this time). More than just catching fish, we look forward to their company and to learning just a hint of what they know in order to become better anglers.

These guys are by far the best fly shop I have ever been in anywhere: generous with knowledge of the fishery; have the right gear available....don't sell stuff that is useless or unnecessary; do everything they can to help you be successful!
