Stopped in to inquire about some "better bourbon" options. He had them, but saves them for his wealthy locals. He seemed proud to not serve us because we were not locals. Needless to say we didn't & won't support this business.

Roxy's is a regular liquor store, without the taste left in your mouth by traditional liquorettes. First of all, Salida is an awesome little town full of river rats, skaters, artists, partiers, and mountain sport fiends. I was there in the summer when it was perfect weather, and everyone was out and about in the downtown area. Talk about a vibrant small town downtown community! Roxy's is at the edge of this downtown area. Actually, it's right next to the sign pointing to downtown. There is a tiny little area where you can park, which I suppose is its only drawback. But once you walk in you see that there is a regular counter right there in the middle, no metal and bulletproof glass cage that makes you feel like a criminal. Actually, when I was in there I thought about Yelping it, which I rarely do, and I thought "this is the first liquor store where I don't feel like a criminal." So if you're looking for a relaxing, non-suspicious environment, Roxy's is your place. They have a large selection of craft brews, as well as the usual beers that you know. There is a decent liquor section, nothing massive like a state-run liquor farm would have, but plenty to choose from. There is a fairly small wine selection, but again, this isn't your standard massive liquor ranch. This is a nice place, guys. The best part is that the people that run it, particularly Terry, are really sweet and give advice, directions (hey, this is tourist country), and generally friendly conversation. There wasn't any attitude or disregard that you find in the typically jaded and suspicious liquor runner. The next time I'm in Colorado, I'll get my crunk juice from Roxy's.

Best selection of craft beer in town and always a friendly recommendation from the owners and staff. Be sure to ask to take a peek inside the beer cooler, accessed from behind the counter, to see the full selection. NA beers - got'em! Whiskey and wine - got those too!
