Upon arrival, I was really concerned what I got myself into. The front of this so-called hotel is really ran down. No one is around. Everything is done remotely out of Texas, they open the doors by sending a code that they email you when you can actually check in. At first, I was able to use the Wi-Fi in order to work. There is no cell service whatsoever. Around 6:37 AM p.m. the Wi-Fi completely shut down. No communication whatsoever no TV. Nothing I was unable to work the entire night. At 3:15 AM the long-term neighbor, the lights to talk to a very young lady like it's one of his buddies at the bar slams the screen door to go out to his car and then does it again going back in. There is no place to hang your clothes, no chair, no desk nothing but a bed, a tiny refrigerator that appears to have something that has died in the freezer. Upon departure there was still no Wi-Fi. I attempted to call the people in Texas once I got to Salida Colorado and had to leave a message. I do have to say the room was clean. The little sink was plugged up, the water shower was hot, but the tub is extremely slippery. The back of the hotel is an RV park that have a number of seriously ran down RVs parked and then the Arkansas River which flows very nicely behind that. For the price that they charged over $100 it is not worth it I would highly recommend that you go down the road and find something else.

Very pleasant stay a bit off the beaten path! We stayed in the RV, ate at the cafe and chatted with folks from all over! Right on the river - so relaxing!

We are very pleased with having stayed here two months. Rick is a great host, Riverside restaurant next door serves awesome food, and the views right next to the Arkansas River and the Rocky Mountain peaks all around make it a perfect place to rest and relax. There are miles and miles of fishing and rafting and canoeing and plenty of state parks right by the river within a few miles. We can not thank Rocky Top enough for having us and their hospitality during a time when we were pressed for time and place was fantastic.

I'm not sure where to begin. I guess the glowing statement is "I've seen worse". We stayed in the motel, the rooms are very small. It was not very clean, bugs and crumbs/dirt on the upper bunk. The bathroom was clean, I will grant that. The office was never open when we were there, I really don't know who is in charge. The whole place was nice but at the same time had a strange vibe. I guess had I paid $60 for a night I wouldn't mind, $100 plus tax was absurd. Small, somewhat dirty, buggy. It is right next to the river, but also right on the highway. The cafe which is right next door is very good. Can't say I'll be back, but maybe some folks feel the place is fine.

This is a nice spot on the Arkansas River. The prices are very reasonable compared to every other campground in the area. It's only a short drive along the river to Salida. The owner is pleasant and accommodating. The cafe is also very good. I would definitely stay there again!

First time here and I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The owners are on site and VERY NICE. The other campers so far have been very nice. People driving by our site wave as they go by. We have a spot right by the river. The spots are metered so you have to watch how much a/c or heat you use (those seem to be our electric eaters), but regular TV (we have one or two going at a time), plus the fridge and heater for the water don't seem to suck on the electric. But the place is very well kept. The cabins and the motel rooms are nice and clean and well kept. The cafe on site smells WONDERFUL but we haven't tried it as of yet. Close to Salida and shopping, close to the river for fishing or rafting. Definitely a place to stay at. They are seasonal, and not open year round, but worth the stay.
