Rocky Mountain Lodge

Great Hotel at a fair price. We checked in not knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. Clean, comfortable beds, great water pressure and good coffee in the morning! Perfect base camp for our 3 day mountain biking adventure. Will definitely come back.

Quick overnight and wanted to be away from the business of Salida. The owner is very nice and offers very good coffee in the morning. Reasonable rates and less than in Salida. The renovated rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Lots of nice planters and areas to sit outside your room and enjoy the mountain air. Only downsides are that there are no pet friendly rooms and they have bright lights outside that keep the rooms illuminated inside at night. I would stay here again, but because of the no pet policy will have to look elsewhere.

The place was clean but very basic. My complaint- when I booked the room the lady told me it was a queen bed. When we arrived, after 13 hrs of diving, and checked in we discovered it was only a full size bed with not enough room to exit the bed on one side. It was up against the wall so I had to climb over my husband to go to the bathroom:( Not accustom to a small bed so it made for a very unpleasant nights sleep. Felt deceived by the proprietor of the establishment.

Great little place outside of the rush of Salida. Great if you pull in late and need a place to stay. Family run, very friendly. Freshly remodeled with great taste! Not the Ritz, but but for a night of needed sleep it's our Ritz!
