Rocky Mountain run time!
Lots of squirrels to sniff out. The occasional rabbit too. Walk the paved path through the park and around the lake for a good dog walk.
My very first run in Colorado!

This park has a little bit of everything. There's a pretty lake (obviously, based on the name) circled by a nice path for running, walking, or biking. The playgrounds have fun equipment and there are lots of picnic tables and green grass and big trees. My son has recently discovered fishing, and Rocky Mountain Lake Park allows catch and release and is close to our house, so we've enjoyed fishing there a few times lately.

I haven't been here since before the pandemic. As I recalled it, it is a very nice park to walk and bring your dog. Early ~ 8 AM there is lots of shade and sun, so your dog won't overheat, nor will you. Today, after a rainy few days, I enjoyed watching colorful wildflowers. Also, saw a few people on kayaks fishing, and others fishing on the sides. It's a beautiful not strenuous and very relaxing park to visit! Try it sometime!

Very long strip of grass and a playground next to the lake with a trail. However no poop bag stations around with the result there is poop everywhere. Parking in the street or parking lot

Dave B. always knows what's up. I'll supplement his review but he certainly hit what you need to know about this park.Similar to Berkeley Park down the road. A lake to walk around but the lake is a lot taller than Berkeley is wide. More shade too! Generally walk the dogs around here for a change of scenery. If you're adventurous you can park between the two lakes and walk both same day. Fitbit steps for days! The park has a few baseball diamonds, a playground, benches to sit on, several horseshoe pits, and plenty of shade for lounging. Bring a lunch, bring a book, or just take a nap, it's all good.Fair amount of Geese roam free to watch out for droppings. It's not as bad a Sloan's lake but it is their territory and they're not afraid to hiss if they feel you're too close. You can fish if you like but I rarely see many things caught. Sometimes the occasional kayak will float around. Only downside is the trail closest to I-70. No shade so they part of your walk/run really heats up on the blacktop. The parking is plentiful and shady so that's a huge plus. I rank this a slight notch higher than Berkeley for all of the shade and how quiet it is activity and foot traffic wise. It's like having a park and lake to yourself!

Perfect place to meet for a socially distanced picnic! We flew into Denver around 6p on a Sunday. Our dear friends met us here with take-out. There was plenty of space to set up out blankets and food. We chose to be right next to the playground so our oldest could run around and let some energy out. This park was beautiful, safe and felt well kept.

This is my 3rd neighborhood park.It is an enjoyable walk around a tiny lake. Geese and ducks with their offspring (seasonaly dependent), algae blooms and cattails.A berm shelters this park somewhat from I-70. That is a good thing.

Enjoyable park! It's great for getting those steps in. The location is great (especially because I work less than a mile away and I can easily walk the lake during lunch hour!). The downside is sometimes there is a ton, and I mean a ton, of goose poo! But you gotta keep walking! And in the summer, the lake smells...pungent. Otherwise, it's a great escape! There is always parking, as well as (usually!) clean bathrooms.

My husband, son, and I came fishing here one weekend day. We found a nice shaded spot on the shore, which was relaxing. There seemed to be a lot of debris in the lake, which made reeling in a pain in the butt. We didn't catch any fish that day, but we enjoyed watching the various species of birds hanging out. This park has pavilions, picnic benches, small fields, and a playground. We didn't check out the other stuff, but there were a ton of people here and it looked like they were having a good time. The parking lot on the east side of the lake was small and there were a lot of people driving through there. I wouldn't mind coming back to have a picnic under one of the shady trees.

Took my dog here for a walk the other day and was very pleased with the park (which I found thanks to Yelp!) Very lovely neighborhood park, easy walk around lake, lovely birds, ducks, etc. Highly recommend it. It is off I70 so it's noisy.
