Rock Family Church

I've only been a few times but I've loved the sermon. Everything Pastor Dean shared was supported by and had a heavy foundation in scripture which is exactly what I was looking for.

Although nice on the exterior they teach a prosperity word of faith gospel that believes God wants us rich and always healed otherwise you didn't have enough faith. Teachings along the line of Kenneth Hagen, Kenneth Copeland and those similar. After going and listening to others like them for years, it took many years to unwind the false teachings from Word of Faith cults. Nothing personally against Dean, but don't be deceived.

Great church! We have been involved in church for over 30 years and love the church in general. There are certainly great teachers, preachers and pastors. We were looking for a church that can help minister to our 6 and 10 year old and had a hard time finding a really holistic ministry for kids until we found rock family church. We are so delighted with their ministry across all generations - and then finding great theology and balance in the general service was an added blessing. Pastor Dean is more than a teacher, he is a pastor. He is a simple man and available which is rare these days. Our family have been involved in church for many years and rock family is a rare find. For us it has become a place of peace, worship, family, assignment, mission, giving, receiving, healing, and hope.

This is the only church we ever tried in Colorado Springs. We did some research online and watched some of the sermons online before attending. We felt welcome from the second we walked through the door. We are preparing to leave Colorado Springs since my husband will be retiring from the AF and we are extremely sad to have to leave this church. We lived it so much I ended up working here for almost two years. The way they accept everyone and give back to the community is unrivaled. Pastor Dean Hawk is entertaining and educational and we've learned so much about ourselves, as Christians, since attending RFC. This church truly ended up being our family here in Colorado Springs. We are going to miss all the people terribly but we will continue to tell everyone how amazing RFC is. Do yourself a favor and check it out!! Oh, and their children's and teen programs are amazing!!!

We LOVE Rock Famimy! From the family friendly atmosphere, to the great teaching and worship. This church truly is a blessing to the Colorado Springs community as well as they do constant outreaches all over the city to pour out love! Very accepting and you can feel love as you are there each Sunday!

Today (01/12/2025) I attended the 10:45am online service. It's my first service being here and i'm not impressed. I don't know if it's just because the new year started, but they didn't teach about the bible. The whole service they were promoting and encouraging people to go to their other events and to donate. I'll be attending next Sunday and I hope that the next service is actually teaching. It was difficult to sit through and did not make me want to come back.

Rock is a warm and welcoming place with a serious heart to help people who attend and to help people in the community of Colorado Springs. I appreciate the scripture-rich, practical messages that Pastor Dean carefully crafts each week. You can tell there is a lot of prayer and love invested in each one. He carefully teaches the word of God, staying true to its power even in tricky contexts. Pastor Kim is amazing--so loving, smart, practical and powerful. She is a wise doer of the word, led by the Spirit of God and their staff and members are equally welcoming. They love God and people. And they simply want everyone to know the love and power of Jesus Christ that they've experienced.

This is our home church and has been for many years. Sermons always focus on Scripture and Pastor Dean Hawk is a skilled and entertaining preacher who preaches the Word of God and connects everything back to the Bible. Excellent kids and youth ministries and great outreach to the community. No matter if you're looking for a first church and a relationship with Jesus or if you've been a believer for decades, Rock Family Church will be a place that you call home.

This started out as a nice church, friendly, great children's ministries, and still do have great children's ministry and nice people. But Pastor Dean has preached before about the gifts of Tongues and Baptism of the Holy Spirit. That was tolerable. But now to literally stand on stage and preaching in "Tongues", and feeling forced to do the same. Want to talk about freaking people out. Also why do they always have to ask for money for a building fund. 4 years and so far every year they are asking for a million dollars, or close to it anyway's. You don't need to expand if you can't fill what you already have. The church is run more like a family business than a church anymore. Staff and volunteers are over worked, and not valued as much as they make it look like. When you get to know them they are great people who just seem wore out and under appreciated. Unless you are a high $ tither/family members who then aren't expected or flat out just don't feel they need to volunteer.
