The worst service I've ever seen in my life. I've been 3 times. The first time I only tipped 15% and got an immediate attitude change and a death glare. The second time I had to wait 5 minutes for the barista to take my order while they finished catching up with their friend. The last time I ordered a cheesecake and it had a hair in it. I had to wait in line for a refund, and they didn't offer to comp anything else. One star is based purely off the service. It's a cool place, but I'm never coming back.

Rico's Café is a great place to have coffee/tea and just relax. Not only is it a coffee shop, they have a wide selection of greeting cards and gifts to choose from. The tea and coffee selection is very large, this is a great place to relax, study and shop for small gifts.

Came in this afternoon on a whim to escape the cold while meandering around downtown. Quaint little coffee shop bordered by two other stores (book store and game store) both of which are accessible from inside. My husband and I shared a Long Island Strawberry Green supreme pot and it had exceptional flavor and the most aromatic of smells. Our parents both had lattes which they were most complimentary of while we enjoyed a few games of checkers on the house. Overall a great unexpected stop! Thanks Rico's!

I'm writing this review just as much for the owners/managers as current and future patrons. Not because it is a great place or conversely a terrible place, but because it used to be one of my favorites and has gone downhill following the post-Covid-19 reopening.Poor Richards, the pizza side of the business used to be an ongoing favorite of ours for years, after moving the Springs in 2016, and we'd go there for pizza just about every month. Their food was amazing and they had live music on Thursday's with a great atmosphere. Their pizza was amazing, with a pre-baked crust, re-baked with toppings to perfection upon ordering. Since reopening, last week, we were thrilled to go back, only to find that the slices have shrunk, the sauce has changed (for the worse), the crust is now not much better than Pizza Hut and their balsamic salad (that we often got and a slice/salad deal is lacking in ingredients and dressing changed (also for the worse) as well.We actually got a refund on our meal because it was nowhere near the food we used to get there. Which although disappointing because of the taste, was more disappointing because we really loved the little hometown place. While getting the refund, we asked the manager why they've made so many changes, to which he replied that no changes have been made. However, WE and the rest of their repeat customers clearly know that isn't true and obviously we know (or knew) the food better than the manager who clearly either hasn't had the food or, is new to the business.I'm the end, it's sad to say we won't be going back. I truly hope the owners read this review and change things back to how they were. I hate to leave a bad review of one of my old favorite places but, this is one of the times that CHANGE IS NOT GOOD. I wish the place all the best but would recommend future patrons go elsewhere if they are looking for mediocre pizza, at likely half the price.

This review is mostly of the coffee drink I had. First of all, we found an area to sit & it had not been cleaned off, so we cleaned it ourselves. We hear that places are disinfecting, but never see evidence of it, unfortunately. I ordered a cafe mocha & my friend a latte. We waited about 15 - 20 minutes for our coffee, which I think is a long wait. I got my mocha & it didn't taste like it had any chocolate & was not sweet. I mentioned it to the barista & she took it & (I think) added more chocolate. Still, it was just 'okay'. Their prices are higher than Starbucks, too.

As a visitor to Colorado Spring, I serendipitously happened upon Rico's early in the morning looking to scare up some breakfast en route to another destination downtown. Really a 4.75-star rating for breakfast,The coffee pumped from the vacuum pot fulfilled my only criteria for a morning cup of coffee: good, strong, and with a satisfying interlayering of flavors The crust of vegetable quiche was flaky and fresh (difficult to achieve with quiche unless immediately fresh). The only tiny negative was the slightly supercilious attitude of the barista when I asked a question about the city. (I was the only customer inside.) But that could just be my interpretation.I was about to take my breakfast out to the sidewalk tables, but the barista mentioned a courtyard patio out back. What a treat! It was like a secret garden: sunlight filtering through an overhead vine-covered trellis, flowers abounding, with inviting back entrances to a bookshop and toy store on either side.As a bonus, I had a fascinating conversation with an amazing woman in a similar profession to mine.

Checking out downtown in Colorado Springs !! BEAUTIFUL !!!Unlike San Diego Downtown. Not as congested or fast-paced. It's the complete opposite here. Peaceful, picturesque, historical, and the air quality seems so much cleaner and fresher. Not to mention the gorgeous mountain views in the background. AHHHHH !!!! SOAKING it all in !! LOOOOVE it !Used my trusty yelp app. and decided to come here after Sunday mass. Ambiance:First impression: Cute little cafe !! Very inviting and a laid back vibe ! It is small, but still a decent size. I hear there is an outdoor patio, but I didn't get to check it out.Attached to the cafe are two other shops you can browse through. From greeting cards to accessories like hats and scarves there's so many cute keepsakes you can buy.You seem to be more relaxed and not rushed here like you would be at Starbucks. It wasn't crowded and had ample seating. Food:Simple concept: Once you order up front you take a number and grab a seat. Your name and number will be called to pick-up your order. Started with a loose-leaf tea by the pot - I think I had one with peppermint and strawberry, but I could be wrong. They all sounded great on the menu !! It was the right hint of flavors and a perfect way to warm up my tummy. They also had a cool steeping timer that I took a pic of. I've never seen one of those before. Lunch is served at 11am so I had to wait for the cooks to come in for food. It wasn't a long wait though. I arrived around 1030 am.They have daily soup specials and a daily vegetable-based soup labeled 'vegan' and salad options. Score !I had the white bean soup and salad combo. It had a side of chips and plentiful for a lunch meal !! Salad consisted of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, green bell pepper, black olives, garbanzo beans, and green beans with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Simple yet satisfying. It was quite filling and the warm white bean soup was a nice accompaniment to it.I also noticed on their website that there is a separate Vegan and gluten-free menu !! Even vegan desserts !!! How awesome is that ??? I'll have to come back here if I visit Colorado again. Service:Staff is uber friendly and I seemed to enjoy working there. I got to chit-chatting with a few young employees there and told them I was a noobs to the area and on vacation. They were pleasant to talk to.Verdict:FOUR STARS !!! This place gives me an all around happy vibe. If I lived in Colorado, I'd be a regular.

Awful tea. They told us they heated the green tea at 220 degrees. I couldn't hold my to go because it was SO hot. Once the tea cooled down, it was super bitter. Green tea should be heated at 190 degrees. The last time I was there, my Non dairy milk was barely warm. Ricos batista need some serious training. This place has gone downhill big time.
