One of the more painful facets of living in Colorado Springs is eating out. Food is such a low priority here that it's mutually understood between servers, restaurants and customers alike. You go to Denver or Boulder if you're at all concerned. Returning to Red Gravy tonight was a conflicting experience. The Caesar salad was pretty good. They tossed in some Roma tomatoes, which, averse a little to the traditional recipe, worked well. They weren't very fresh. But that's Colorado produce. The butter garlic spaghetti was a pleasant surprise. While I don't know if the pasta was homemade, the sauce was genuinely well concocted. The service? Bizarre. While I'm 1/3 finished with the salad? You got it. They serve the pasta. No one apologizes. No one offers to bring back the spaghetti to keep it warm. Servers (3) asked me 1-2 times each if I wanted something to drink. One must have walked by the table 15 times and looked at me when I'm in the throes of stuffing my face. I have a sensitive spot on this as I regard eating one of the more mundane and embarrassing activities we humans engage in--if stared at in the actual act of shoving food in the mouth. Call me crazy. I did have to pro actively ask for: cheese, crushed red peppers, bread, vinegar and butter for the bread, which, they didn't have. The table was egregiously rocking back and forth on the beautiful, genuine wooden floor. If this place could work on its service, it would earn probably a 5 star rating from me. You always have to consider location and the restaurant climate when evaluating restaurants. I suspect that the pasta is store bought. If they want/ed to hit it out of the park, make the pasta in-house. Sorry. No photos this time and a sparse commentary on the spaghetti sauce. It was tasty, though. I will return likely.

Tutto mare- Bland undercooked pasta, Walmart shrimp, no herb mix, massively overpriced. Tomatoes were underripe.Fettuccine Alfredo- under seasoned, noodles were meh. WAY too much sauce/ id like some noodles with my sauce please. Asked for no Parmesan and was still served Parmesan- TWICE. price was average but not worth the experienceThe lemonade was absolutely disgusting- they use Minute Maid lemonade-they used the cheapest ingredients they can find. Gross- do not recommend and have been here before and it looks like the place is just going downhill. Definitely not coming back.

I have never felt so disrespected by a restaurant in my life. Tonight, during the Festival of Lights, downtown was incredibly busy. As someone who has had a heart transplant and lives with several chronic conditions, I am highly immunosuppressed and often end up in the hospital each year. We noticed there were several tables outside, so my husband went in to ask if we could order food and sit there. He was told it was fine. While he took our order, my daughter and I tried to find a place to sit outside.Suddenly, a man came out, yelling at me and insisting that we couldn't sit there. I tried to explain our situation, but he just continued to scream at me, saying it was the same for everyone. I pointed out that it wasn't the same for all customers--if I go inside a crowded restaurant during the holiday season, there's a high chance I could get sick and end up in the hospital. There were literally no customers at the tables outside, but he insisted they were reserved for people who wanted to come out and look.I reminded him that we were customers trying to order food, but my words fell on deaf ears. I will never return to that restaurant, and I will be sure to share my experience with my friends in the Springs. The yelling was so excessive that it brought me to tears, and we ended up leaving the entire event to go home. Thank you, Red Gravy, for failing to accommodate someone with serious medical conditions and for making me feel like I don't belong in this world.

Went to dinner here last night. I had the veal masala and my friend ordered the fettuccine carbonara. Both were really delicious! We had some appetizers as well. Service was excellent. Waitress and bartender were top tier and on it throughout the night! We were seated in the blue room I think (the back area) and it was very nice. Honestly it was much better ambiance than the front area and I greatly enjoyed the energy in this smaller, quieter section. I've been to Red Gravy a few times over the years and this was by far the best experience yet.

Went there last night with friends. The fettucine carbonara was outstanding, especially with peas. It's a delicious heavy cream sauce with bacon bits. BUT, it's not carbonara. Carbonara is a light sauce with egg and pancetta. My wife had chicken marsala. Wow, what a meal! Sweet, savory, spicy all in there. The chicken cooked exactly right (which is not common) The meat, vegetable, and gnocci all provided different textures. Really the best meal on the table, very complicated and super delicious.

Went with 3 other ppl and got a table quickly on a Wednesday night. They offer complimentary bread, which was soft. It went great with the awesome mushroom risotto I ordered. It's a completely vegetarian meal. I recommend. My dinner mates had a chicken pizza (he loved it), penne paste (loved it) and another pizza (loved it). I appreciated the water refill system, they keep a bottle of water on the table to allow you to refill when needed. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive.

We were originally going somewhere else but realized they were so full so we went across the street and found this in downtown and it was a great decision! From the tomato bisque and red gravy salad to the entrees it was truly an experience!

WOW! If I only had one word to describe this place that would be it! WOW! The staff, the food, the setting! This place was amazing, stumbled across it while searching for a place to eat for my birthday dinner. The price was even better, ordered drinks, appetizers and dessert all under $100?! I will definitely be back and will always recommend this place.

Great bar service! Great atmosphere and food too! The St Louis style pizza was the best pizza I have had in awhile. The Italian sausage on top had so much flavor and the provel cheese was to die for.

Excellent food. Old style Italian. This was Sunday dinner. Reminds me of NY without the prices.
