Pizza Rio

Food: we split a small White River Pizza ( not white but red sauce based) which was fantastic ! This spicy calabrese chili loaded pizza on a thin crust with pep, and mozzarella , ...not for the faint of heart! My hub had the Back Country Betty Wheat brew. It was sun shiney citrus & refreshing, though slightly bitter for his taste. I had the Italian margarita...tasted like the baby of a margarita & a mai tai. Perfect drink. Service: it was between lunch & dinner, so not busy. Jenson, just might be the nicest & most efficient server that we have had the pleasure of meeting. I mean, how often does your server say "I appreciate you," not once, but twice. He was prompt, friendly & checked on us at a perfect pace. Ambiance: For those who have not been to Salida...do it. Such a cool little town. This pizza place has second story dining , with a small bar, indoor tables, not crammed together, and an open patio which overlooks the S. Arkansas River. It was so nice to dine while watching peeps & pups frolic in exquisite weather. It has been said that the owner/chef, was trained by a chef who was credited with winning "Best Pizza in the world" 13 years running! Well, that explains it! Will return!

Corey was super friendly , fresh tomatoe basil soup was magnifico texture, the beet salad was fresh with roasted red pepper goat cheese.We will return for fresh pasta and sauce !!

We enjoyed our pizza and beer at the indoor bar, and have done the same outside. You won't go wrong stopping in here for a slice or a whole pie!

Amazing riverside patio with super friendly service, quick and delicious food. Our chicken parm sandwich and Greek salad were just divine. The vodka sauce is not spicy at all, but real flavorful. I would definitely come back through to grab another one and try the pizza.

Excellent pizza! I look forward to going back. It's a bit pricey, especially if you make your own with a lot of toppings. It's in the best location and the patio views of the Arkansas River are really nice!

Spent the day exploring Salida and had our dog with us so looking for a dog friendly restaurant and found Pizza Rio with their outdoor patio on the rooftop. Great views and loved sitting outside in a beautiful day watching people use the river and play. Served greeted us promptly and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the Paddler Hand-crushed tomato sauce, smoked provolone, pears, walnuts, gorgonzola & arugula, with fresh chives. Finished with a balsamic reduction glaze and added sausage to it! Wonderful. They brought the dog a water dish which was super niceBest way to enjoy a vacation lunch on a beautiful Colorado day!!

Great place for lunch on the Arkansas River in Salida! Jenson was our server and he is Great!

Stopped in for a quick beer and pizza rio was perfect! It happened to be happy hour with half off draft beers ($3.50 local IPAs!). We didn't try any food but the pizza and salads looked delicious. The server was super friendly. Great spot right on the river in the main area with a great view!

Great service, incredible new york style pizza, and a great mexican mule. Overall a great experience

Ordered half and half pizza to pick up. When we got home saw one of the halves was missing the toppings we ordered. The bottom of the pizza was also black and the crust dry and black on the rim. We messaged them asking for a refund to our card and never heard from them. We have ordered their pizza before but now will never order again. Wish I would have taken a photo to post here.
