Came here to the Aspen Room for a group meeting today. The room was clean, easy to find, and spacious. Parking on the top floor was free. The library itself was updated but filled with vagrants being loud. This should probably be addressed, as I wouldn't want my kids there without supervision. All in all it was a good visit and I will return. I saw dvds as well as printed media, and staff was visible throughout. It was worth mentioning that there were armed guards walking around. Seemed a little odd, but I wasn't hanging out too long in the main area, as I was there for a meeting, and that's it.

My biggest complaint about this library is that I didn't see any form of free parking - it seemed like it was all metered. I understand this is downtown, but it seems like a barrier to entry for people who are not as well off and would need the free resources a library offers. Upon entering, the most jarring thing about this library is the "bleeding station" near the entrance (kind of weird it's not just called First Aid?) and the homeless man I saw being escorted toward it. Beyond that, this library was beautifully set up from what I saw (we didn't explore quite as much as usual due to the limited time we had on our meter) with the usual separate kids area (which had a sign that disallowed anybody from sitting there who wasn't with their child). This one didn't seem to have nearly as much activity space or resources as the other 3 libraries I've been to in the area, and seemed to have a bigger emphasis on baby and toddler age toys than anything else. I still think this is a great library, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this one, especially since I live on the opposite side of town from it.

So many DVDs-they have multiple seasons of Broad City and Bored to Death. Aquman, Ad Astra. I checked out so many I had to return some unwatched when my 7 days was up. I love libraries for an exponential number of reasons and this one works! $.25 gets you 30 full minutes in the lot directly next to the entrance, in contrast to street meters that give you what, 7/8 minutes?? libraries are one of the only places on earth where you can be yourself without being expected to buy anything. Nice staff, good light.

It has been so long since I have taken advantage of the library. The employees here know their stuff and are eager to assist and give out information. I love that we can get movies, CDs to learn another language, a great selection of books, catch up on a magazine or even get e-books directly to my tablet. What is not as nice is that this branch is dirty and doesn't smell so pleasant. I realize that there is a large amount of homeless here and I am glad they have somewhere to go and that the staff is so nice to them, but I don't think I would feel very comfortable there on my own for long. I don't know what the answer is, but that is my review for you. ;)

Took the wife there for her books and dvds, its been a while since we set a foot in a library. But they have a lot of books and a whole lot of selection of movies, i mean why even buy movies. Other than that the library is great, the only "bad" you can say about this library is the homeless people in it. When its cold out they go inside to get warm, which we dont mind at all its just the awful BO Smell. However, there should be a program within the library where they can provide a shower and clean clothes (clothes that are donated of course). Me and the wife would love to sit and read a book but the smell just is way too much. Me and the wife love the fact that the employees dont kick them out because it is a public library and there is humanity still left in this town. But other than that, the library is great, great selection we will go back de

Bring a bottle of Fabreeze. A pack of Stick-Ups. A clothesline clip for your nose. Some Lysol... anything to mask the stench of this place on a hot afternoon and then ENJOY one of the coolest libraries around. I especially like the Carnegie Collection Area and the old maps. Yes, this is a lounging place for bums and transient folks, but I've never been accosted (well, nasally, maybe), and the chess pick-up games are pretty cool. Tons of cool staff and resources. I'd give 5 stars if they'd just burn some incense or spray some patchouli oil around the place. The B.O. is tough to take.

Good selection and a very friendly staff. They even have an entire wing dedicated to genealogy research. Location is great, but be wary it is a hub for the homeless of tejon. Like I mentioned before though the selection is pretty great. And their Internet system really embraces technology. Additionally they have a ton of great events and community functions. It's really easy to find something to occupy your time.

And now we have meth contamination in the bathrooms! We're spending $30,000 of taxpayer money on outdoor phone charging stations. What the heck are we doing as a community?

Sadly it doesn't feel like a safe learning experience. Definitely change for the worst over the years.
