There is tons of hiking to be done here: Various trails can be mixed to create unique hikes, runs, dog walks, and biking. My only bitching moment is $5.50 for parking.....like WTF...but it is what it is.Great elevation gain....you will grind for 2 miles and 1400 feet but than you can have that extra Krispycreme right?Gorgeous views Plenty of opportunities to practice your scrambling and bouldering techniques.

It's not really a lake per se, but an oversized pond. But, a fun place to go paddle boarding, fishing or just hanging out with the family. There's a nice walking path, sand volleyball court and disc golf course. Plenty of parking, just needs more attention to upkeep, as the overgrowth is a little much when trying to get down to the waterfront. Also a very dilapidated dock is one of the first things you see, so a little town investment will go a long way.

A great place to get wet ! Everyone is paddle boarding or kayaking. They have a new bathroom and changing area . A cute playground for children has also been recently added . There is a Volleyball court and a frisbee golf course too . Lots of nice restaurants surround the Lake area but Omallys is the best . Unless you just prefer a ice cream cone from Rock House !

My friend picked me up on a Friday afternoon in Denver and we headed south from Denver to a small town called Palmer Lake. Why? Just because. There was an annual 24 hr ultra distance foot race being held at the lake around this time of year in late September. It was the first time for me being here at Palmer Lake regional Park and so I decided to enjoy it. No, embrace it since I was here for the entire weekend. We all arrived at the Palmer Lake regional park at about 7:15am and there was parking near the area where the children's playground equipment was. There is a dirt path that circles the lake, which was cool. The scenery was beautiful and while there was a few times you can see the stunning views of the lake, it was limited. Palmer Lake regional park is always a good choice for families and individuals who enjoy the outdoors and love the views of the lake. The lake front path was walkable and very wide for a lot of people to pass thru on any given day. Palmer Lake regional park is a great choice for area residents and in the broader Colorado community to come and enjoy the splendor of what makes Palmer Lake so so special and unique. The lake itself seemed calm while I was there, especially at night. With the moonlight shining down on the lake at 2am in the morning, it was clear that I was meant to be here. It was very nice and they really take care of the park, the maintenance part of it.The overall experience here at Palmer Lake regional Park was excellent and a perfect escape for the weekend in a colorful Colorado spectrum. There are several benches that are installed along the lake front path for anyone and everyone who needs a break from walking or strolling around the lake. True be told I was using them too while I did laps around aforementioned lake. The distance around the lake was under a mile, so it's a nice distance to loop around for exercise. Whether you bring your bicycle or lace up your running shoes, Palmer Lake has a lot of things to do while letting you experience the outdoors and fresh air. One of the things I enjoyed about Palmer Lake was the views of the Lake. There was also 2 areas where playground equipment was installed for the kids who lived in the surrounding communities. Looked relatively brand new from my point of view. I even saw some people fishing in the lake while I was doing loops around the walking path. Not sure if you need to have a permit for that, but I wasn't fishing that day, just running. Still a good day and night at the Lake. There are restroom facilities at the park. They lock them up after 9pm every night I think. If you are ever down in Palmer Lake or just passing thru, consider spending a few hours here to unwind and decompress from the driving. You'll get better off for it. Definitely recommended!Palmer Lake regional park is located in the heart of Palmer Lake, Colorado. Even the town is named after the lake! You can't miss it. It's right off the CO 105 highway. There's signage that will direct you to the right parking slots of your choosing. Can't really miss it. Like many community parks, entrance to this park is virtually admission free, which is awesome in itself. The park itself is maintained by the good folks of the town of Palmer Lake. It definitely looks groomed and well maintained when I was there. It was cool to see that pedestrian bridge between the upper parking lot, the train tracks, the walking path around the lake, and the park itself. As far as parking, the aforementioned is plentiful if you get here early enough to secure a prime spot in either parking lot. Best thing to do is to have a private car of your own or rent one, since I don't think the town of Palmer lake has any public forms of transportation available. There is public transportation to and from Denver and Colorado Springs with stops in Monument, but that's as close as you can get to Palmer Lake. Plan accordingly and you'll be closer to Palmer Lake than ever. Best thing I ever did was coming to Palmer Lake, Colorado and then enjoyed the scenery - among other things. Maybe you will too. Consider coming to the area when you do and you'll be graced with utmost gratitude and beauty.5.0 stars for the overall experience.Support local!A+

The little town of Palmer Lake is so charming. This little park is at the edge of town next to the Historic Palmer Lake sign. And across the street from the old train depot. Which is now a Dex's Hot Dogs. The lake itself is beautiful. There is a gravel trail completely around the lake. It is wide enough for two people to ride. Around the lake, there are several benches to take in the views. On the left side of the lake there's a small jungle gym and a few trees to hang your hammock. You can also play frisbee golf here. One of the only places I've actually seen permanent goals. You can't have anything motorized in the lake, which makes it prefect for fishing and kayaking. All in All just an all around great little gem in the town of Palmer Springs.

Great local park in Palmer lake. The lake itself is small but during hot summer days it is packed with people doing recreational things on the lake. Fishing, paddle board, paddle boats and enjoying the water. There is a small playground and a disc golf course. The best part that I like is the trail. It appears the trail only goes around the park but there is a South bound exit that can take you 55 miles south of you want a super long bike ride, run or hike. It's an enjoyable area overall and the park is a huge plus for this small Colorado town.
