Our Food Is Art Restaurant and Bar

There are not many restaurants in the small town of Crestone, but this is an excellent one. They do an excellent job of providing great service, comfortable ambiance, high quality food and a variety of options. I loved that they had vegan/vegetarian options and even include what types of oils they use to cook with! I could feel the difference; normally I feel sick after eating fries but not this time. The Cajun spice fries were fantastic and I loved the flavor, texture and assembly of the seed and bean burger. They also have a great beer selection and some sweet treats. I would highly recommend the brownie-It was so decadent and delicious!

I wanted to give this place more stars. I wanted to disregard the hour long wait because it was Memorial Day and they were understaffed which is why I gave them a great tip even though they aren't a full service restaurant.A few bright spots from our meal were the gluten free brownie, the basket of fries, and the Maui Wowie burger. Totally solid.Unfortunately these were more than offset by the very bland fish tacos (well cooked but zero flavor) and the overcooked sirloin steaks. I know this isn't a steakhouse. I also know that four and five star restaurants don't put items on their menu that they don't do well. Something to think about.Can you get decent food here? Yes. Is it roughly a 50/50 chance based on our experience? Also yes. Are they one of two restaurants in town so you'll probably still come here if you don't want to cook? Mmm hmm.Everyone was super nice. Maybe things got missed on our food because they were overcrowded for the holiday. Our experience just really didn't match the current high ratings.

Horrible food and service. Refused to take our order over the phone. Waited over an hour for a to go order- it came out on plates. WTF! Only gig in town... but it sux

I went here with my wife in April for our honeymoon. The service was great and the food was also great. I had the catfish sandwich and my wife had a burger and fries. The staff was very sweet and they even gave us a free (dairy-free) apple pie-- which was awesome because my wife has a dairy allergy. Loved it! Also Crestone is a cool town.

So love this place. So much. The food, the staff, the whole atmosphere. This restaurant has everything you would need from a place and the folks whom live in Crestone are beyond lucky. If you get a chance to visit the area, I highly recommend making a stop here.

We arrived early, 5:00 PM, for dinner. There were only a couple other groups there, and only 1 group in front of us to order. We placed our dinner order, a couple burgers (1/3 pound, but made from 2-1/6 lb frozen patties), and an order of curly fries, we were given a buzzer, and then we found a table. 30 minutes later, still no food. We went to the counter to check and were told "it always takes 35 to 45 minutes. We don't start cooking until you place your order. And we're busy, there's 13 tickets in the kitchen." Now, I wasn't cooking this night, but I've cooked plenty of burgers, I can tell you from personal experience that grilling a 1/6 lb frozen patty takes maybe, and I'm being generous, 6 minutes. Dropping a basket of curly fries; maybe 5 minutes. Putting the cheese, lettuce, onions, etc... on the burger, maybe another minute. There is no way that this is a 45 minute process. Unless they have 1 George Foreman grill that they do all the cooking on. About 5 minutes after we asked, our buzzer let us know the food was ready. The burgers came in foil envelopes on a plastic tray, so the plating obviously took no time, and we had to remind the counter attendant twice to get our drink. We sat back down to eat and with the first bite realized the burgers were absolutely raw in the middle. Those burgers couldn't have been on the grill for any longer than 1 minute per side. Crestone is a small town without a lot of choices, but next time I'm here, if I want a burger, I'll fix it myself. It'll be cheaper, faster, and a lot better. There's definitely no "Art" to the food, unless the cow's name was Art. If that's the case, then I guess the name should be "The food WAS Art".

Dependably tasty vegetarian/vegan options, while the meatheads get their fill, too.A bit too mild, and no hot sauces offered.

OFIA is the healthiest restaurant in town. Try the salmon cakes, coconut soup or tacos. The chicken bbq sandwich was a downer. The tacos are not authentic but American fusion style. The genre is more 'healthy American' so don't get hopes up for molé, spiciness and expect your enchilada to look more like pancakes than finger rolls. Clean inside. Nice staff. Menu consistently updated. Always being rearranged. If you can, sit and eat outside. I'm giving 5 stars because I support my local business but I wanna give 4 because OFIA doesn't always keep consistent hours and seems to be closed every few weeks with no notice. Please, Crestone needs our favorite food art restaurant opened on Monday - when everyone else is closed!!!

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Colorado. I was a bit skeptical at first, but wow it is genuinely amazing. We ordered the Steak & Ribs, both were served with in house sauces that were absolutely amazing. The chef here really cares about his service and it is incredible. It's unfortunate that it's located in the middle of nowhere but if you are in the area, or visiting the Dunes. This is worth the drive. The server was very hospitable and gave excellent recommendations.
