Great margaritas, salsa and green chili. We really like their Calabasa. This is our go to in Canon for Santa Fe style Mexican food. Can get crowded, limited space and servers, be patient or go somewhere else.

Well I don't have to say I should have known better. But.... Salsa had some good flavor, medium heat to it, corn chips under cooked, under seasoned, and cold. Queso had the skin on top, that literally SHOUTS American cheese, in my book that is always no bueno. Ordered the enchilada and Chile relleno,. The meat was under seasoned, the relleno over breaded and the food was lukewarm at best. My husband ordered green chilli beef burrito the tortilla was ok, the chili was not hot at all no spicy zing, and as usual for most Mexican restaurants in Colorado not enough actual green chili. Sopas for dessert warm but just a ton of cinnamon and sugar. Service wasn't bad attentiv

Best Mexican food in canyon city for sure! They have real good green chile and great specials everyday! We always eat here when we are in town.

The food is really not even mediocre and over price! The service is non existent and rude! The ambiance is so so, but the best thing about this restaurant. I do not recommend this hole to anyone. The last time we were here they made us wait 15 minutes to be seated and then seated the people who came after us before us. The food took 1 hour to be served. The worst!

We are on a mission to hit every mexican restaurant in Cañon - there are a lot for a small town! This is our third in a couple months and was recommended by a couple locals. We came in on a Friday, relatively early (5pm-ish) and the very small seating area was packed. We found one table that still had dirty dishes on it and sat down (it is seat yourself) and the waitress cleaned it for us. It was tight in there with all the tables filled. Cute though! It has an "old mission" look. We were served quickly and the food was good. I had the chile renello plate (my go to dish) and coupled it with refried beans and fried potatoes (which were more like country hash browns). Props to them for having more that rice and beans (they also had vermicelli and veggies). The plate was good. The green chile had a nice flavor, but the hot didn't have much spice. It think it is our second favorite mex place here in Cañon. It is amongst hotels and I think that is why it is so busy. Give it a try, it is good.

I ended up in the area for work and asked a local for a lunch recommendation. This restaurant is more Tex-Mex than an authentic Mexican restaurant. Come in with the right expectations and it isn't that bad. Unfortunately, I came in expecting it to be more authentic. It wasn't busy, even for a Tuesday lunch hour. We were seated immediately and the server brought over some chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. The chips were on the stale side and didn't have that satisfactory crunch. The salsa tasted more like marinara sauce, which I did not enjoy. The chips deterred me from wanting to order a Mexican dish so I decided to take the safe route and order the Slopper with green chili. You really can't mess up an open-faced sandwich smothered in cheese and chili. It tasted just like I expected. The only downside is that the green chili I ordered wasn't very green. It couldn't have been an accident because my coworker also ordered green chili and got the same.Overall, it is a decent restaurant. Just don't expect it to be too authentic.

So this used to be my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant. Always told everyone this was the place to go. But the past 3 times I have been there the food is "white" sorry don't mean to be racial. The portions are small the prices are at least 5.00 more and I'm sorry I would prefer to listen. To Mexican music in a Mexican Restaurant not Help me Rhonda. Probably...sadly last time we will go after 10 plus years. Bye bye Old Mission!
