Disclaimer - we didn't go to this history center. I just had to write a review praising Old Colorado City so tourists would be sure and hopefully patronize this neighborhood. If you're like me and enjoy seeing mid-century and earlier classic buildings, the hotels in Old Colorado City will blow you away. There are probably 10 or 15 motels along the main drag here that remain untouched from a structural and historical standpoint since probably the 50's. I don't know of another place in America that's like this, really. It's very refreshing that the people of Colorado Springs appreciate the value of these hotels, because the almighty dollar all but demands they be torn down and replaced with a Fairfiled Inn or something. It's easy to miss Old Colorado City if you just take the highway up to Manitou Springs. But if you are visitng Colorado Springs and you enjoy nostalfic motels and businesses, be sure and dtop in this area so it will flourish. Next time we're in town, we'll be sure and visit the History Center to learn more about this area. I'm anxious to meet the kind of people who obviously treasure our (fairly) recent history.

Interesting collection of shops, galleries, bars, restaurants, etc. Touristy but fun, Bit of an "old hippy" vibe. Easy to get to from anywhere in Colorado Springs. Parking can be a challenge when it's busy.

This was a spur of the moment decision for me to visit the Old Colorado City History Center and it was such a good one! The museum is set inside of an old church, with lots of artifacts on the perimeter painting the history of Old Colorado City. One of the gals even played the old bellowed organ in the corner for me. Another woman, Ms. Barb, gave me a fantastic brief history of the city and showed me the highlights of the museum. It was a great experience, I learned a lot about this new town I'm living in, and am thankful for the hospitality. I will be stopping by here again!

Interesting place, but rude staff. While I enjoy history, I would not return owing to their treatment of visitors. There are many other places of historical significance that one can and should visit if given the opportunity. This one I would skip.
